I only discovered this band a few weeks ago, and similar to Jinjer I became an instant fan. Check out Spiritbox - The Mara Effect live at Silverside Sound , its 16 minutes long, but man, it will blow your mind. If that's too much time for a video check "Bleach Bath" or "Belcarra"
the way that the band members synchronized in this song was really incredible, i can't really describe it but they were all well attuned to each other which is surreal to be honest.
Thank you! You should definetly check out or react to their live studio videos. "The Mara Effect live at Silverside Sound", "The Beauty Of Suffering" and "Belcarra". These have the best sound quality with her vocals. You will also love "Perennial" which is mostly beautiful clean singing and "Bleach Bath" with a long clean part. Each one of these songs is equally worth it! They are also all very diverse and different!
Courtney’s been doing this for over a decade. She started out in a band called Unicron, joined Iwrestledabearonce in the later part of their existence, and then started this band with her husband Mike (he briefly played in Unicron, his own band Fall In Archaea, and played in IWABO for about a year and a half). She has amazing control of her voice in both singing and screaming (she uses a mix of three different screaming techniques, which is rare). Mike has been defined by being an incredible tech metal guitarist, and Bill (bassist) has done everything from grindcore to pop punk.
Thanks so much for the reaction! You must react to Belcarra and Bleach Bath by them. I was once chatting with them, when they released Bleach Bath on RU-vid, the guitarist and the vocalist (they're married), did an q&a and some chatting with the fans, they were really nice and great with people. Thanks for your channel, your reactions are great :)
One of the very best bands out there. Like you, I'm shocked that they're not more well-known. Perhaps they just don't have the work-ethic of a Jinjer, who are constantly touring the globe. But this song is really just a tiiiiiny little teaser. They go apeshit from here. Like Sascha T. said below, I'd love to see you check out all three parts of the Mara Effect in one sitting by watching their "Live at Silverside Sound" video. It's an emotional experience, man. Bet you'll love it. Thanks. :)
I found them awhile back bc Eugene the bassist from Jinjer said in an interview that they r the only female fronted new band he listens to so i had to give them a listen can't wait till they come out with an album the EP was fire and I have liked all the singles since as well this song and Bleach Bath r my favs tho
She was in another band thats heavier than this called “iwrestledabearonce” listen to Gift of Death or Green Eyes from them. For Spiritbox do Bleach Bath pleaseeeee
@@DayneV11 Courtney was the second lead for IWABO after Krista, who did the first two albums. If you want really early Courtney work, check out Unicron. Broken Vessels is probably gonna be the song that get's you interested in them if you like Spiritbox.
Well, I suggested this song in my comment to your reaction to Pisces, glad you enjoyed it and there’s plenty of good tunes from these guys,, Courtney Laplante, the singer, has even joked in her IG account that would be very nice to play with Tatiana in the parking lot after a gig together. Lol! I definitely hope that to happen!
I see a lot of people recommending a lot of Spritbox songs but it seems like they didn't even watch the full video because you explicitly said that you really appreciated that only one section of the song had unclean vocals, and yet people are requesting Belcarra and Bleach Bath and other tracks that are *significantly* heavier than this one. If you want to have a good time (YOU have a good time, since you've made clear what your preferences are) you should listen to Everything's Eventual, Trust Fall, or Perennial from them before anything else to listen to more of their calmer and entrancing side.
Great to see Spiritbox here, they need more attention. If you want to hear some weird music with crazy vocal acrobatics from a female metal singer try öOoOoOoOoOo - I Hope You Sleep Well / Well-Oiled Machine. I'd love to see a reaction to it ;)
I just subscribed to this channel cause the enthusiasm is great. If you want to check out something I literally haven't seen anyone else react to, check out She Must Burn. Especially "Eclipse" or "After Death" they're seriously underrated and I feel like they should get a larger spotlight.
I have never heard this band before, thanks for showing me this. They are quite heavy and may be a bit out of your wheelhouse, but you should react to Dyscarnate - Iron Strengthens Iron. Guaranteed the song will get you moving, there is so much groove in the music and the song will make you build muscle all by itself
I have a recommendation for you, I may just be a super new subscriber (hit the button during the typing of this comment) but here goes lad. React to Devin Townsend - Kingdom(Live at EMGTV). I'm sure you will enjoy it, be warned though, it does lead into one of the biggest rabbit holes of music possible going from crazy 90s rock band with steve vai, one of the heaviest bands to exist, an ambient country rock album, a 3 song segment that will bring emotions, prog, some beautiful acoustic songs, some pretty neato vocals, prog again, and some coffee obsessed alien called ziltoid. Things will explain themselves at some point down the line. Also just watched the Jinjer Pisces reaction, pretty neato.
So when are you gonna listen to Iwrestledabearonce - Gift of Death? It's the band the vocalist and guitarist was in right before Spiritbox, I think you'll be quite surprised at her vocal capability. I really hope you do get a chance to react to it :D
Welcome to SpiritBox good song huh your face reaction when she started to do the screamo hilarious but you can sing very beautifully you should check out a song called belcarra it's a little bit more heavier and a little less beautiful singing do you want a mosh pit
Please react to children of bodom- are you dead yet? There is a live version available, it's about 10 to 15 years old and I listened to them a lot. Just found the album in my closet and fell in love with it again 😁
To look for good, meaningful pop music, you almost have to look past the shitty pop of the day and even mainstream rock, you really have to focus on the more melodic side of metal/hardcore/punk to get good lyrics and music
Trey. .your doing well. ..after a dodgy start with nightwish reaction your finding the way with impressive growth in views and subs. ..I don't think you should stop videos letting the flow and vibe work with the music. ..your channel has great potential and has got off to a great start. .. give it 2 years bringing out regular content establishing your channel and then go for merchandise,. sponsorship and possible small payment reaction videos to make some money out of this. .. don't fall into the trap of patreon account and far to soon where reactions may be not genuine because of getting paid. .. nevertheless good reaction and strong growth channel you have got going.
