Hola Sir Tom Jones, lo mismo pensé respecto al sigarro, soy una admiradora suya su voz su porte todo usted es una portento de hombre, Dios lo bendiga hoy y siempre ❤❤
Tom Jones’s stable marriage from the get go, was the secret to his overall success in his career. Yeah he cheated. BUT he never allowed other women to interfere, undermine or affect his marriage or child. He’s always been pretty smart and very very grounded. He had a high level of maturity very early. And also, wealth never went to his head. AND he never became an alcoholic or drug addict like so many performers do.

Don’t understand why people need to come on here and judge this man. None of you have walked in his shoes, lived with him or know enough about why he made the choices he made in his life to be making your nasty comments. None of his personal life is your business anyway. The fact is, he is a gifted musical icon and has given us (those of us who love him) many years of joy. As a matter of fact, I’ll bet those of you who are saying negative things about him own some of his albums.

I'm 20 years younger than Tom. I'm a native of Chicago, IL USA. Had a great childhood. My Dad was born, down yonder (as he called it) in the southern most part of IL in 1911. He had two choices. To work in the coal mines or move to Chicago. I understand why he made that choice. He passed over 40 years ago. I will see him again when it's my time. Love you Dad! 😚 Great intimate interview of young Tom and his family! 👏

Tom stayed married to Melinda, his wife for almost 60 years, until her death, in spite of his many infidelities. Tom made sure his wife was always comfortable and never had to worry about money. However, he was unable to remain faithful to her. And that is sad. We're not intimately privy to their reasons for staying married, but something tells me theirs was a great love story. We can't imagine the pressures and temptations of super stardom, but by some miracle they endured. The power of true love!
True. Linda suffered from depression and She didn't look for help when She was ill. My parents marriage survived my father's behavior but my Mother went first if you know what I mean. Their love endured everything but being in competition all the time with gorgeous attractive women waiting for your man to come home is not for me. He could keep his money and jewels of compensation for himself. That's my personality but I respect their decisions and I suppose their love might have been very strong.

Longtime fan of Sir Tom, as my mom and her best friend would play his records all the time and watch This is Tom Jones. And he’s aged very well and still sings great. Thanks for sharing this.

ellen thayer I like to see pictures of his grandkids...they’re I believe, veterinarians...his son has a son and daughter...pic of the grandson looked a little bit like Sir TJ, IMO...when he was very young I mean, a teenager maybe..that’s not uncommon...for a grandchild to look just like one of the grandparents...
ellen thayer I always liked his music and of course he was always easy on the eyes 😄. But reading his book he opened up about his family and growing up in Wales...he was very good to his family, his parents and his sister and I think it was admirable that he and his wife stayed together in spite of all the temptations thrown at entertainers...usually they trade their wives in for a new one...younger, skinnier etc...they made it work by keeping his two lives separate...that to me, is the best thing about him..his loyalty. That all came out in the book...I think it was really sweet that they were childhood sweethearts...his wife was lovely
Elvis said best singer ever. No better compliment ❤️🤗 so handsome. Love these performers that carry there style and voice into senior years. Because they love what they do. Cher, Tina turner just a few I can think of
No. Elvis never said that. He greatly admired Tom's voice though. Elvis's voice was light years more diverse. And tom couldn't even attempt "it's now or never" Elvis's 1960 critically acclaimed recording is the benchmark standard for greatness.
@FENOSOA PISO No. Tom didn't manage his family life well. In fact, tom cheated on his wife with hundreds of unclean women, bringing home whatever disease they had and giving it to his wife. Tom's vile disgusting behavior led to a divorce. Sad.
I heard him say in a recent interview that he regrets never having done a film, that he thought he'd always have time later to do it. It's something to hear him speak here. He's never expressed himself in a showy or arrogant way. I watched his television program in the US in black and white, and later in color, with the lit lucite floor. He was wonderful in his suit. I loved how he said good night in Welsh at the end of the program. Can't find a clip of it anywhere.
Hi. I couldn't find a video in RU-vid having him saying the 'good night' sentence, even though I have it in DVD. What I've found is a quizz with the Irish saying in the first sentence. Here goes the link ... ru-vid.com/video/%D0%B2%D0%B8%D0%B4%D0%B5%D0%BE-E1G960pJ7Hw.html
@@mariomoraes7457 Thank you so much. It’s wonderful to hear it again. My grandfather was born in Wales, raised in Ireland, emigrated to the US around 1900. He died long before I was born, so Tom was the first and only Welshman who I heard say ‘goodnight’. I loved the black and white show/three-piece suit/Lucite floor. I recall him looking at Janis Joplin in awe the first time she was on, and him singing I Who Have Nothing to Ann-Margret as she stood above him on a balcony, not knowing he was alive. Still gives me goosebumps. I’m so very grateful you were kind enough to find and pass on this treasured memory from so long ago. Bless you. ✌️🙏🎶
Hi Adriane, hope everything is ok. I've just come by chance to a shorter version of the final 'good night' in Welsh. Thought you would like to see it. I'll share it bellow. I hope you can watch it. Regards!
AND never neglect your Fans, As Slim Dusty Australia's king of country music said, because they're your bricks and, without them u just collapse and fall over.
Here’s a man who stayed grounded throughout a very successful career in the music industry, never took success for granted and to this day he’s still a down to earth person. Admirable. Great video.
Tom jones,I carried roofing shingles up to the second floor roof for a roofing company.I mixed concrete carried it in five gallon buckets, and carried the concrete blocks to the guys building the walls of the building.I got them their beer too.I played music for about 10 years.Thank God I knew what hard work was.Playing music was really hard if you didn't love it you couldn't do it.

I really like this interview, he is sharing a reality of being married to a sex symbol. I was a little girl watching it on his show. That's something to deal with. Alot of temptation. But he shares it with alot of class. I just love him and he is a great talent even in his 80 no one can touch him.
I’ve always listened to Tom on the radio my dad bless him always sang his songs .He’s such a great guy.Keep smiling and singing your lovely music Tom ❤️
Hod carrier then became bricklayer..take your hat off to us..it's a hard game..my estimation of Jonesy has gone up 100%...and those ladders were interesting...you needed to just go for it...yeeeeaarrggh!!🤨🤨
What an interesting little bit of history. l would have thought it was a little bit later than 1965. he'd only had one or 2 hits at that stage, but he's sounding quite established, altho very appealingly humble. Nice insight into the man.
@@allymayful You had stated that he only had a couple of hits at that stage of his career. He's over 80 now and still has just a few big time hits. He's like little richard in that regard. Starts out with a few hits early on, then lives decades longer and failed to reach the level of massive critically acclaimed recordings that the king reached in just a very short life and career. Interesting to ponder.
@@allymayful Just pondering what you just said about Tom having just a couple hits at this early point in his career. Yet he, like little richard, lived decades longer than the king, and failed miserably to reach elvis's massive body of critically acclaimed recordings, which he achieved in a very very short career. Interesting.
The house is still there. 141 Manygate Lane Shepperton. Sold for £397,500 in 2012. Zoopla says now worth £688,000 (July 2019) The bridge is Chertsey Bridge. You can see Chertsey Lock and the old (now long gone) Cricketers Pub on the other side of the river.
His wife was beautiful girl and she truly love him . The most amazing thing is that she stands by his side until her last breath. That is a real true love.❤❤❤
I seen Tom Jones on stage when he was younger. I said this guy is going to be a star . He had it all. Now, today, he is a star. ❤ Tom Jones..I would go see him again..
His wife is so pretty here...it must have been hard for her...women constantly throwing themselves at her husband...I think she was really pretty with her light blonde hair also
His late wife was sure a brave woman because she lived with a charming and talented guy,and it 's not easy living with a celeb who met many beautiful and famouse women
He proves the old saying that "nice guys finish last," so totally untrue. I have heard him speaking in all kinds of situations through the years and he invariably comes off as one of the nicest, most down-to-earth, humble, warm, and friendly of guys...
The guy is still human. He's just a man. Does that make him any less of an entertainer? He deserves a personal life. It worked for him and his wife so it's really no one else's business. Sorry you're so disappointed.
@@sandylee6025 yes he is still a great entertainer didn’t hurt his ability for that ...but very sad he had hundreds of affairs . I’ll be just fine though thank you for caring...
@@cherie3283 He didn't mention how critical those affairs may have been in preserving the arrangement he had with his wife. But let's face it, most successful good looking male celebrities are going to have lots of flings, with all the "fans" throwing themselves at them.
I ADMIRE SIR TOM JONES AS A SELF-MADE, GOOD HEARTED, TALENTED AND STRONG CHARACTER THAT MADE A STRONG BODY AND THE GOLD VOICE TILL THE END OF TIMES! AMEN! HIS VOICE IS ALWAYS IN MY HEAD AND IN MY HEART!- HIS SONGS ARE FOREVER 💕 A BOWL!❤
This is a rare & invaluable video of him & his son before he made it big. He seems to be the same man with values when most entertainers lost it when they hit the big times.
