My favorite type of cardmaking video, packed with useful information and absolutely no new supplies needed! I especially like the "heart" box - perfect for so many types of cards (Valentine's Day, of course, but special birthdays, anniversaries, Mother's Day and more).
Thank you so much! And you’re right about the heart box being suitable for so many occasions. The square box with the puppies went to some friends of ours and they ended up putting it on the Christmas tree! I thought that was a great idea. So next year I’ll be sending decorations and cards in one! 😂💕💕
The prices for such simple dies are really outrageous. It doesn't surprise me, that Ali and Temu are taking advantage of that. Thanks for the great instructions
Oh wow! What amazing video, you inspired me so much! I haven't purchased any dies to make box cards but I think I'll try thanks to you! All your creations are so beautiful!!! It's impossible choose only one favourite GS stamp set because I love them all so much. Melon Friends is one of the most adorable!
It's impossible to choose among these amazing boxes. Each one is a surprise, in particular the shaker one 😲. Many thanks for sharing and for the opportunity to win this Gerda's release, I love her stamps, are so cute 😍. Hugs, Nunzia Aggia Sbarià.
Hi Nunzia, thank you so very much for your lovely comments. You are lucky number 37 which means you are also the winner! Could you please email me your mailing address at kjmckibbi@gmail.com so Gerda can send you your prize? Congratulations!
I love these box cards and you have taken all of the guess work out of it. Thank you! I love Reindeer and a tree, but puppy kisses for Santa is probably my favorite.
Thank you again! I really do appreciate your taking the time to leave a comment. I love the box cards too - they are just so much more fun than a regular card! 💕💕
Thank you for this tutorial and for working out the dimensions ! I can't justify spending lots of money on fancy dies etc. so this is just perfect. I have had a fun day trying them all out. Thank you !!
Totally love box cards!! And yours are so fun and festive and simply gorgeous. And shakers are my favorite type of card so love that one. tfs! And Merry Christmas!!
As a card maker, I really LOVE all of your creations that you made in this video and will be sure to try making some of the different sizes. Really love how you created the shaker too! Your creativity and colouring is amazing! Thank you so much for sharing!
This is wonderful, Karen. Thank you so much for sharing. I'm especially interested in the first one you shared. I've wanted the dies for a while, but can't get past the price. I've been mulling over trying to figure out how to make a template, but yours works beautifully. Thank you so much for all your hard work and the terrific tutorial. Merry Christmas!
I've followed you for some time Karen I think you are phenomenal! I just bought the sneaky raccoon stamp and yes you're right dies are out of my budget as well! Thank you so much for sharing your genius ❤!
What an awesome video! LOVE all the pop ups you made - thank you for sharing all the different templates. I'll be giving them a try soon. I agree - I live in Canada and those dies are a little pricy for my stamping budget so I really appreciate all the effort you put in to this video!
I've always found creating my own boxes easier and definitely the cheapest way to get them done. I have bought several dies though on occasion just to have. Either way they are cute and will give someone a smile. I love that you showed several styles, well done. I already have the nutcracker set but wanted to say these are all super cute
Karen your cards are amazing. I thank you for your detailed videos, you make them easy to follow instructions. This stamp collection, love her stamps!!
Brilliant video Karen, love all the different ideas you come up with like the addition of the curved extra card piece on the back to write a message on. Wish I had watched all these before purchasing some of those expensive dies ( especially with our dollar so low and postage). I hope this next year I play a bit more with these ideas cause they really look amazing. Well done🥰
Fantastic instructions! I've been itching to try a box card but couldn't justify the cost of the dies. Now you've given me starting point to play and adjust the design to fit my needs. Thanks you so much for sharing!!
I do have a cutter but as you said about the die cuts they are expensive I'm glad you did it this way as it's fully made and you don't need a template if you want a gourgouse card love how nice your cards are thank you
Thank you so much! I do appreciate your kind comment! I also have a die for an inside pop up box, but they become very expensive in an already expensive hobby. Plus, the way I see it, they’re only cutting straight lines and I think I can do that! 😂💕
Kid, I’ve been watching y.t. videos since a friend’s crafting bug bit me around New Years 2018, and tonight is the FIRST I’m seeing YOUR videos, and that makes me more than just a little peeved with RU-vid!! I do sincerely wish they were aboveboard enough to provide access to THEM regarding their viewers’ thoughts on how they run their business!! Be well, and keep on keeping on! I’ll be looking for more of your videos.
What a wonderful set of box cards!! I love them all 😍 My fav type is the 2nd one you made, I've made a lot of those box cards! Thank you for the tutorial and the measurements, I've saved this video to check back when I want to try the other types!😊
Thank you very much for those tutorials, I will definitely use them in the future! My all time favorite Gerda Steiner Designs stamp set is the Moody Unicorns.
I so enjoyed viewing your creative process and am grateful for a tutorial that shows how to make the box cards without the expensive dies. I loved each style, but I will start with the square as it seems easier. Thank you so very much for this lesson!
Genius!! I love that you made your own templates for box cards and thank you for sharing them! I think box cards are so fun and different but, like you said, the dies are so pricey. I will definitely be making some now. Your shaker box card is awesome!!
Wonderful Tutorial! I Just love box cards! My favorite stamp set from Gerda is the Panda set. I own it and use it quite often. I just absolutely love it! (I collect pandas and I think Gerda drew the best set) Thank you for sharing your talents with us!
I love the nutcracker stamp set! It goes perfectly with the box card you made. I am a new subscriber... So glad I found your channel. I love these box cards!
Oh my goodness you are a genius. Dies are getting so expensive and this is fabulous. I'd rather save my money for stamps. :) Your projects are darling! Thank you for sharing. :)
Thank you so much Karen for your wonderful, clear and easy to understand tutorials. So kind of you to have the templates for us too. The designs are beautiful. Your talent is amazing!
NEW Subscriber! OMG I love your tutorial! Box dies are so expensive! I love the one you did at the end with the flowers! My current favorite Gerda Stamp is either the Nutcracker one or the Santa and snowman doing yoga! Thanks oooo much for the chance!
I could honestly “like” this a hundred times! Great ideas and adorable cards. I just found your channel and I’m subscribing immediately. Love, love, love!!!
Oh my gosh these are just wonderful and so so appreciate you sharing with all of us. My teeny brain doesn't work all that well anymore but I can sure understand how you made it all happen. Adore the cards you've some up with. thanks so much.
Thank you so much Anne! I hope you will give them a try. They are so much fun and look even better in real life. The people we sent the square puppy dog card to are using it as a tree ornament! So they could be a two for one - worth the effort. 😄💕💕
Before this advent calendar, I already followed you on YT because I love your cards and style. I adore Gerda stamps and I need that Nutcracker set in my life ASAP! 😍
Karen I am so impressed with your skills. I just found you on You Tube a couple days ago and have been binge watching your videos. You are an inspiration to many I'm sure. I love the way you have so many ideas and make it yourself without dies and other costly supplies. I too am a make it yourself girl so I appreciate all that you do for all of us crafters and I'm so glad I found you. Thank you and Merry Christmas Karen.
Thank you so much Kellie for that sweet comment! I really appreciate it. I love this hobby, but it can be very expensive, so I do like to find ways around that and make what I can. Merry Christmas to you too! 💕💕
New subscriber! So glad I found you. Your tutorials are really good, clear instructions and fun techniques! You reignited my desire to make pop up cards like these because yours are so well done and fun and without shelling out a ton of money for fancy dies. Well done Karen and thank you for the great inspiration. P.S. you two videos on stencil techniques were also really good. Some of the best I have seen on You Tube. I have been a paper crafter enthusiast most of my life but a serious card maker since 2013 when I bought a die cutting machine and my first die from Simon Say Stamp. So I have been following many paper crafters and designers for years. Your tutorials are some of the best in my opinion 😀
OMGosh Anne - thank you so very much for that really kind comment! You made my day! I really do appreciate it, and I agree, some of those dies are crazy expensive considering they just cut straight lines. 🤷♀️💕💕
Thank you so much! I don’t have a scan n cut so I’m not too sure how you would figure that one out. But if all else fails, they’re easy to cut by hand. 😄💕💕
DELIGHTFUL set of cards and FABULOUS tutorial! THANK YOU for sharing and INSPIRING, so grateful that you have included the dimensions for each :) ADORE the background of your first card, along with the back flap and I think the shaker panels of your square card are super cool! I have a Top 2 sets - You're Koalafied and Upside Down Flamingo. Thanks again for the creative inspiration and the chance to win :)
