The ILFORD Pop-Up Darkroom turns any space into a darkroom and be erected in under 9 minutes!
This simple video will show you how easy it is to erect your ILFORD Pop Up Darkroom and start your darkroom printing journey.
Before assembling ensure that you have sufficient floor space and height:- The external metal frame is approximately 2.2m tall and the internal space is 1.3 x 1.3m. If you are choosing to attach a fan / air blower to the lower vent on your pop up darkroom then this will cause it to expand slightly.

great instruction video, now we need one to show us how this folds back up into those bags neatly🙂 , and maybe a demo of developing, or loading 4x5 sheets, with maybe Rachael Brewster wright as the demonstrator.

Looks very interesting. I'm guessing no ventilation? But if I'm concerned about that then I should shoot digital!

There is a vent at the bottom where you can attach a fan to push air in, then another narrower vent at the top allows it to flow out. Neither vent let's light in as they have 'turtle necks' and drawstrings.

My darkroom doesn't have ventilation.For the past few years I have been wearing a half-mask respirator with a gas filter in my darkroom. Problem solved :)

amazing, but an I get a double wide version to fit 2 enlargers needed for RA4 printing? If there was also an access hole to have the processor sticking out the side I’d be sold

Is this light tight enough to do things like putting film into bulk film loaders or loading film for into reels for development?

Yes it it. There may be an odd pinhole around the seams but nothing that will impact this

Quite a few have gone our to Europe and the US this week so it could be on the way. It was much more popular than we anticipated so the initial stock has already sold out, but more is on the way!

I was hoping the video would show a practical way of temporarily blacking out that window. It seems a nicer alternative to a change bag, but no more useful.

That's a big window to black out! But you can black out a smaller one with gaffer tape and cardboard. The good thing about the pop up darkroom is you can print in it. There is room for a table for an enlarger and trays. You can't do that in a changing bag.

No! It's not a tent, it's a pop up darkroom 😂 It's definitely more useful for making darkroom prints in than camping.

i saw this and it said there isnt anything that comes with it that you can use to let air in and out. what would i get to do that?

We just ordered a fan that blows the air in through the bottom vent and then it cents out through the top

Una grandissima cazzata. Mezz'ora per montarla e altrettanto per smontarla, e poi devi allestire anche l'interno con ingranditore e tutto il resto. E la luce? E i vapori? E comunque devi impegnare un'altra stanza (nel video un salotto). Non vedo vantaggi

Love the concept but this is criminally overpriced at $300. You can buy much better, heavier duty, easier to set up grow tents for $100 less than this. There's no way this costs your company more than $65 to source.

I was expecting this to be pretty pricey. I wonder if those less expensive tents you mentioned would have ventilation though. The Ilford tent does have ventilation which is a big plus.

@@jaceleroy402 Ah yes. Ive been looking at these light proof grow tents last night and noticed the ventilation pockets. But it turns out that the ones around here cost a lot more than I want to pay. There is a storage room here which I could convert into a darkroom but there's hardly going to be any ventilation. I think there's kind of a grill on the far side that leads to the outside but that's pretty small and far away from where I would be working.
