I am reminded once in a while how much of a comedic genius Reviewbrah is. When he had to refer to his notes to verify what the K in IDK stood for, I laughed way too hard.
It's dumb when people buy the ''combo'' meals with drinks included. You're not getting a better deal because their drinks literally cost them cents per cup. I NEVER order a drink when getting any fast food. Waste. I'd rather bring my own water and just order more food.
I strongly agree with you on your lemonade take! In my opinion, if you get any Popeyes meal, lemonade definitely goes well, and it makes a perfect combo for your satisfaction. Thanks for your report on this, dude!
I work at Popeyes and during lunch I out some of the strawberry syrup in a cup, mix that with sweet tea, ice, and top with lemon slush that goes with the lemonade, it's really good.
I was wondering when I visited Popeyes a few days ago. They asked me what I wanted at the speaker how can I help you. My response was I don't know. They then said that will be $ 6.50 at the window Thank you !! 🤣 🤣 🤣
laurel: What does the IDK mean? Hardy: I don't know. Laurel: Yeah me either but what do you think it means? Hardy: I DON"T KNOW! Laurel: You don;t need to get so hostile about it I'm simply asking what you think. HARDY: I DON"T KNOWWWWWWWWWW! 🤣
My initial reaction to the “IDK Meal” was actually the same as yours, and my interest was certainly piqued (I’m a fan of IDK’s work, his past few albums have been quite good). Finding out what this meal actually was was a bit of a disappointment. While the idea of a sampler meal targeted towards those who don’t know what they want could be fun, it really should’ve incorporated some sort of variability/randomness like you mentioned to make this a more interesting promotion. Then again, laziness seems to be rampant among restaurant executives these days.
Yeah but there's a whole host of issues with giving the customer variable items; firstly they're required to give calorie counts which would be impossible for interchangeable items. Second, it would be impossible to predict for those with particular food allergies. It's just not a very feasible idea and I don't think the FDC would let them do it. Certainly seems like a cool idea, but (example) as someone with a peanut allergy, I would not partake in a randomized cookie sale, for instance. But someone less inclined to be aware of that like a child would not be so lucky. And food allergies come in so many varieties, I can promise someone would be potentially affected by it.
Now that you mention it, I'm pretty sure that was his last Taco Bell review. (IIRC it was "The Cantina Crispy Chicken Taco - or- You Can't Go Home Again.")
Reviewbrah’s style of elocution and cadence (even his formal attire) reminds me of the great newscasters of yore, like David Brinkley and Sam Donaldson. It’s nice to see that he is carrying on that lost art and tradition of speaking. His reviews are always insightful, informative and interesting without being condescending. I’ve just subscribed to his channel.
Wait, hold on, this “IDK” meal is NOT random? It’s the same every time? Well, then one DOES know, surely? Flawed concept, as you suggest. From the UK, and we only have a couple of Popeyes countrywide (I think), so, forgive me if I have misunderstood this concept.
If the IDK meal could be anything then the employees are just gonna give you the stuff that has been sitting out the longest and is gonna need to be trashed if it’s not sold soon.Food for thought. It should be semi-arbitrary. Like: there’s three possible meals they could make for you and which one it is will be a surprise
A random meal is one of the dumbest ideas ever for a restaurant. It’s asking to get sued. This is why the French stopped doing this hundreds of years ago when they were in the building blocks of creating modern day restaurants.
But if someone came to Popeyes knowing they wanted the IDK Meal, then they do know what they want! Honestly, this just seems like a lazy idea. They should've come up with like a random-meal-generating algorithm and to surprise the customer with a new combination each time. Of course, Reviewbrah himself is fantastic as always.
@@Margar02 please don’t bring in any critical thinking skills. You’re supposed to be jumping the train and just saying idiotic stuff to put down Popeyes.
I've noticed fast food places seem to be getting lazy with their "new" limited time offers. Instead of making an actual new item, they just take stuff that's already on their menu, slap a celebrity's name (or another random name in this case) on it, and call it a day.
When you were talking about IDK, the rapper, I thought you were joking. But you were so serious and knowledgeable about it so I looked it up, and you weren't joking! You were joking, but you weren't joking! So, you were like, "The IDK that everyone knows is the rapper..." and I was like, "Who?"
As someone who never eats out, I always wondered why this is my favorite RU-vid channel. However, seeing Review Brah have something he enjoys gives me a visceral feeling of happiness.
Popeyes has had an issue with their website recently. I spent 3 months trying to be able to place an order. Was only a few items that showed up, not enough to justify the delivery order (I'm disabled and can't get to the local one in under 2 hours, but delivery is around 20 minutes. Yay public transportation...) I tend to get just a fried chicken combo (the half bird one I can get 2 meals from 😁) because I like the spicy chicken, but when only one sandwich and one side was available for months... Fortunately it seems like it's been fixed.
I too really like the idea of an IDK menu where for a standard price they give you two items at random from it. That sounds kinda fun and exciting! Potentially getting something I haven't gotten before.
I think it’s a great idea too - but I feel like from an operational standpoint it would cause a hugeee headache for the workers. Customers kicking up a fuss when they don’t get the IDK combo they wanted etc. I’ve worked in customer experience and the general public are cray cray 💀
I assumed the IDK meal would be basically what you described. A kind of lottery of a menu where you get something random off it. It would be an interesting concept but also monetarily viable to the store because if you were overstocked or low on some kind of product you could offer the other more often to level out your stock.
Sometimes I wonder if when he goes to all those fast food places around his area if they recognize him and if they are like "code blue. Reviewbruh has arrived. "
A better concept would have been if you ordered a "idk" that they ask you if you want normal or spicy. Normal and spicy randomly select from 3 to 4 new special sauces on the sandwich. Spicy would pick from 3-4 spicy sauces and normal would be 3-4 non-spicy sauces.
I also thought it was IDK's celebrity meal when I first heard of it. I had just been exposed to his music for the first time too. Pretty cool hearing you bringing him up in the video. Shout out to IDK!
Reviewbrah, I love your content it's great, it's lovely and sometimes very funny when the food chain absolutely ruines the product. I was curious how you order your food? Do you just do it in a normal way or very formally
IDK what Popeyes was thinking on this one because they straight up forgot to add a side to this meal. I think you should have rated them a little bit lower For that. Solid review as always.
also at popeyes, you can order a arnold palmer gallon, or you used to be able to buy 1 gallon of tea and 1 gallon of lemonade. very refreshing, although sweet.
We're talking fast food here. It doesn't matter if you can't make up your mind what you want, they give you the wrong fucking thing anyway. So wouldn't that make every meal essentially an "IDK" meal???
I've never heard of the artist known as IDK. My first thought seeing this was they didn't know what to call the meal. I'm wondering, would it be cheaper to buy the regular chicken sandwich and lemonade as you usually would than to get this meal?
My toes hurt. My depression is worse. My anxiety has made leaving the house next to impossible. But at least I have a few moments of chill with ReviewBrah
I have reverse interstitial membrane dysplasia, and a swollen bladder lining. I watch “Reviewbrah” and his wonderful content to distract me from the crippling pain, and to think of meals from my past - fast food meals when I had not a care in the world, when my stool was firm (and travelled deftly), and my intestines we’re hardy and versatile. Thank you! -Leroy
"IDK is also a three-letter code, and it stands for: I Don't...*checks notes*...Know" Well *I*DK if that was intentional or not, but that delivery was PERFECT
I used to love Popeyes until my son got a job there. He told me an old man comes in there every morning to cut up the chicken and would often use unsanitized buckets to put the chicken in. My son asked him if that was safe and he said that the chicken was going to be cooked anyway so it didn't matter.
here is a fun fact. In 1992, NBA legend Michael Jordan became the first celebrity to have a McDonald's meal created in his honor. Called “The McJordan Special,” the value meal consisted of a quarter pounder with bacon and barbecue sauce, plus fries and a soft drink.
I always enjoy listening to your reviews. I know I’m the past I’ve listened to ur radio commentary on RU-vid. But I can’t seem to find it now for some reason. Could someone tell me where to find it?
Yep, i like your idea for IDK to be like a kind of mystery box. That would've been much more suitable to the name. And because of that, the price point is quite a steep one. But at least, you know, it was edible this time. So am happy for that.
They should make the IDK meal a random grab bag of items like you said, and then add the chicken sandwich and lemonade as like a "The Usual" menu option
The Sandwich as always is good and I enjoy the lemonade, but this combination is not enough to make me want to go to Popeyes for it unless I want Popeyes.
My son and I get this plain with the sauce on the side so we can make it our own way. The frozen lemonade makes it roll better. Once you add them together you really have a deal.
