I did look into it because I was genuinely curious and even though I love the band I never looked that hard into it... I am glad I did and now I want to go back and re-listen to all the albums. "This song is the beginning of the story regarding the grandma coming home from an asylum, and her relationship with demons and satanic worship. Grandma is crazy and he's a bit uncomfortable with that. He tells her what she requested to be set up for her arrival is taken care of and grandma tells him her time away was ok as her demons followed her to look over her, reassuring her mind as crazy. The demons crave blood. And grandma will provide it to them at any cost."
In essence, Grandma returns home from a long stay at an asylum. Very much alive, but also still very much in tune with spiritual entities she only regards as "Them" that are also there awaiting her return.
You gotta remember that The King started out in the era of Black Sabbath, Judas Priest and the old 70s rock music, but the King obviously wanted to make his music more ominous and dark. His stories are akin to reading a horror book or watching a horror movie back then!
Yeah! I (Sam) will have to listen through an album to get the full picture. I look forward to doing that as the more I think about this song and band the more I like it 😃
@@RyanSquared thisnis actually 2 albums telling one story. Conspiracy and Them. With all those patches on that jacket I'd figured you know that. But I'm 45 and been metal head since 84
@@isaacbutler4084 , Ryan here, I was wondering when the toxic underbelly of the metalhead community would crawl to the surface to "Actually" me, whether that was the intention or not that is how it is perceived. I did specify at the end of the video that King Diamond made album length stories, however I failed to mention that it is a 2 part. Imagine how this could gone if you would have said, " Hey man, did you know that this was part of a 2 album story? If you dug this you should check that out too." I would assume that with you being 45 you would have learned how to communicate better. Don't gatekeep, Be better.
@@RyanSquared toxic underbelly lol. Sounds like your favorite " metal" band is Disturbed or FFDP. Do you have any idea what any of those bands stand for or there music? Sounds like you got that jacket for RU-vid videos.
Take in the entire Them album and read the lyrics along with it. King is the master storyteller of an era like the Hammer era... He's forever My King! Hail!
It's not all show , that's how he makes the sound . It's one of Andy's signature sounds . These solos are very difficult to play properly , also bass / drums
King Diamond! Andy Laroque is a wizard, he’s the one who got me into Death on the Individual Thought Patterns album. Also Matt Thompson drum cam vids are the best.
One could be a ghost and king diamond fan. I love both 🤷♂️ I definitely get the comparison tho. To me ghost is more blue oyster cult and even elements of ELO
Pop fans allways ask and need lyrics. . Why. .. 17%8 have only english lyrics and 4,3 % are instrumental songs. I personal listen first drums ,then guitar palyers and singer only for voice range and voice vibrato and power no lyrics minimng onlu 1 % important olny fir me.
