I feel like popular being banned only made a diverse format for the time, once this would be in a normal banlist, a clear meta deck would come out, which id assume will be R-ace still
Who would have thought that a card that can special summon itself for free when searched, has a search effect when summoned itself and can put material on the field when sent to grave all for free would be broken?
@@Kostas_Dikefalaios woud be interessting what woud happen if its just a special-summon on search but all other effect are not there, technically ashe woud be still a 1-card combo but weaker to more handtrap like ash and this sort of stuff
I just got suuuuuper into Edison format and I had a physical reaction to Ab Zero being summoned lmaooo. Crazy that with all the hero support that’s happened through out the years they’re still playing a card from the 2000s
It did indeed hurt to see, I don’t know if it’s because of the Pendulums because I never played that variant, but infernoble can build very strong boards and not susceptible to Super Poly.
@@demontferrat Trueee, the insane almost ftk infernoble end board of little knight pass cant be super poly'ed because theres only 1 monster on the field xd
@@demontferrat yep. Benefit of the doubt, ill assume they were newer to the deck and such. But that was painful especially the first turn of that first game.
34:05 The Predaplants were essentially made to counter XYZ and Synchros by reducing their levels by putting predator counters on them. Too bad that the deck sucks and is only used for its generic extra deck monsters.
Where was game 3 of Lab vs Salamangreat? Also why was "Rescue-Ace vs Tearlaments" actually Branded vs Mannadium? Why have there been so many mistakes in the RU-vid uploads these past 2-3 months?
Memento has to be one of the most satisfying decks to use. Something about spending a year to summon my 5k beater and 5 negates just makes me giggle and clap with no hands
Tsk I'm looking forward for Memento because of the thumbnail but damn same problem going 2nd without board break really sucks and the fact that Memento can't even put any board breaker because of consistency problem.
yeah, they have around a decent slot for non engine but their biggest problem imo is that they can really play into handtrap if your opponent know what theyre doing
worth watching video ...good decision with the ban! the summoned monster ( lubellion ) has to be the 2nd chain link to use the effect of branded lost afer the fusion summon, right ? 1st branded lost than the monster ?!
The problem with that is that you can't summon the horse if you have non-Mementos on the field. It's hard to play Memento with other engines because of that.
I'm surprised Snake-Eyes players didn't just switch to T.G. Rocket Salamander. The line is surprisingly solid. OSS summon Salamander, tribute it to summon Screw Serpent, summon Salamander back. From there you have many options but one interesting option is to go Star Guardian and you can recycle one of the two.
In paper, did OSS come out alongside poplar? If it didn't, then I'm fairly certain poplar was the only SE card that came in its set (or the only relevant one at least) and nobody cared about the deck before that, it just wasn't a thing in the competitive scene. Poplar literally makes the deck.
OSS, diabellstar, flamberge and the other snake eyes came out in AGOV while poplar and promethean came out in PHNI, you can clearly see why diabell and OSs were just splashed into decks with level 1 fire monsters for consistency sake
poplar is fine, original sinful is the real problem. if original is banned, r-ace and fire king will not use diabellstar anymore, and pure snake-eyes only has ash as starter, normal summon poplar will not search original so it cant start the combo.
The people who are mad about lovely handrip is so miserable lol. Only bad lab players would do this kind of thing and they should be feeling good about it because most of the time its better to hold the pop for something active on the field and good lab players only handrip when they know exactly what their opponent has on the hand to do so. Still not sure why people are being so salty about this. I get some people do hate on the deck due to the floodgates but a lot of lab players aren't even on those cards lmao and just dismantle combo players with normal traps
some idiot on that chat also said that lovely be able to recyle trap is bullshit, did they dont even realize how bad a trap deck compare to modern meta combo deck? even keeping lovely up on the field is hard enough since she doesnt have any protection
I know I'm late to the party but poplar needs to be banned because of the self recycles effect it has, auto summons when searched fine, search spell/trap of its archetype fine but the self recycle effect as soon it hits the grave is the reason why snake eyes is so dominant
1:19:19 people hating on labrynth while the opponent could have just won by banishing the furniture asap lol damn the second game of that match. that was a creative lethal using arianna to reset lovely.
@@jabermogwai5996 well in terms of recursion labrynth is now on the same if not even a higher level than branded despia. thats what people find toxic nowadays. the infinitly long chain on your turn that ends in them going +11 and the handrips for some reason. the floodgates arent that big of an issue anymore. thats what made it confusing. the opponent could have basically won if they just banished the furniture.
"Poplar is fine because it helps the deck to not be mid". Who said, in the first place, that all decks must be disgusting meta friendly? Finally in the last year they decided to create fun decks again
@knechd7542 how many over powered spells and double effects and searchers do the likes of snake eyes , tear and the likes have ? Unfortunately that's the way Konami are taking the game.
I hate the names and artwork on all the purly cards. They look so stupid and the names all sound lame af. Its a good deck but you gotta be a special type of cringe to play that trash
