My theory: in terms of storytelling - the jazz part is the part where poppy is "saying cheese", faking it, hiding the rage and chaos within - and being "poppy". Mellow, high pitch talking with some Japanese. Kind of like how people behave when there is a camera in front of them, and there is a need to portray an image different from how they really feel inside. Could even argue that it could reflect on how she used to perform on RU-vid as Poppy - It had a lot to do with acting, less about genuine emotional expression (its still acting in a sense, but... You know what I mean)

The Jazz section (a relaxed slow beat effectively causing a slow down by 50%) is: 5/4; 6/4; 7/4; 5/4; 3/4; 7/4- "Say Cheese" happens in this last bar, then after that you get to the SQUEAL!! and a gear change to the original tempo. At two mins in, the tempo steps up a third via a metric modulation (you get three quaver bests in the space of the two beats previously)- then 2/4x 4; >Move!< 6/8; 7/8; 4/4; 5/8; 5/4; 3/4 >Poppy screams in< 6/8; 7/8; 4/4; 5/8; 7/16 (yes, really- just in case anyone is still clinging on); 4/4. Another metric modulation: Three crotchets happen in the same space that two happened before: 6/6; 7/4; 4/2; 5/4 (final breakdown starts) 5/4; 6/4; 7/4. And f*ck me, but at the end, the crotchet beat is exactly the same as the 2/4 at the beginning- meaning IT HASN'T ACTUALLY SLOWED DOWN (whatever your ears are telling you)!! The musical pulse is constantly stretching, contracting and gear changing- large chunks are based on adding a beat each bar. It you don't understand this, it's because it is music nerd territory- if you do, you should probably move on to Stravinsky's Rite of Spring next (and parts of that will be easier to grasp than this). I don't know if they notate it or just learn it by ear, but if you were going to write all this out, you can do it successfully with the bar groupings I have come up with.
