London.
C/U of a porcelain figurine representing "the three drunkards". M/S of a man and a young boy sitting at a table admiring the figure. C/U of the boy who picks up the figure and moves it from the table. He writes something in a notebook then looks at another figure - a woman. The man and boy look at various other figures.
The man is Sacheverell Sitwell, a leading authority on Russian art, and the boy is Nicholas, a great grandson of Wartski, the Faberge expert. The figures are part of a collection of Russian porcelain figures on view to the public for the first time.
Various shots of figures, most of which were created by Englishman Francis Gardener, he specialised in everyday scenes. A Chinese God is the last figure featured. He has a moving head and hands.
Note: discrepancies in the paperwork around spelling of Nicholas' surname - Wartsksi or Wartski. Sacheverell may be known as Sachia Sitwell. Location is probably the Wartski showroom.
