Where did your help go? Jeff you did all the work. Back in the days they use tell us no work you don't eat. Great job on everything. Looking forward for that next video. Keep up the good work and be safe 👍
My dad passed away a few years ago at the age of 50, you remind me sooo much of him!! Y'alls work ethic, the way you treat people, being an all around guy that can fix and do about anything. I enjoy watching your channel keep up the good work bud
Any young man between 20 and 40 who is an apprentice carpenter would do well to work under Jeff Barron for a year or two he would learn more than you could put in a book. I was fortunate enough to have a highly qualified very knowledgeable mentor/master carpenter a few years ago and turned out to be a great friend also long story. It’s great to work with someone I respect and difficult to work with someone I don’t.
Same here. A jack of all trades. I loved to be his neighbor or if he's adopting I'm willing. We could all learn from a master. I love my country peeps.
Interesting where the screws go on a metal roof. We put metal on our cabin years and years ago and the standard was to screw it down on the the ridges. Now, most all roofs I see they screw it on the flat part of the metal panel. You are getting that thing whipped into shape. Looking good.
I really like watching your videos. You are a really cool dude, and Hannah is DA CUTEST!!!! I like everything you post including your hog trapping your construction projects and you're fishing.
This is a fantastic video for those having a problem trying to straighten out someone's work without a tremendous amount of money and work. Great job Jeff it's looking good. Hope Hannah was able to get something to eat before Max mooched it all. Keep the videos rolling between y and Hannah
This looks like my fishing cabin porch and roof. Nice to have as much outdoor dry space to be outside, plus i used one of those prefab jobs i got from a deal from a buddy and butchered it and made even more of a compound look to it now there are structures all the way around it and looks similar to this with attached decks to walk around on
At first I thought Jeff was kind of a sideline, Hannah being a nice girl let's her Dad have some face time in the video's. But no, it's the dynamic the two of them have. He is a rock solid guy who contributes much to the video's. I hope they both continue!
Alright Jeff I'm gonna pick you apart a little. Really just one thing. Why didn't you set your outside beam on top of your posts rather than nailed or bolted to it like you've done there? Just kinda curious. I know it's not a ton of weight up there but just kinda wondering why you did it this way since you started fresh with new posts and all..... Maybe you thought this was would minimize the little hinge effect between beam and post? Those metal roofs can get a bit tricky cuz they really need to be square or else they look all kitty wampus when you get to the other side. I miss doin that stuff. Built and remodelled for many years. Just had ice out up here a few days ago and you're working with no sleeves already! Love your channel bud, lits of good stuff, not the least of which is how well you interact with your young'un.
Every aspect of the work is just more difficult when things aren't: "plumb, level, and square." As I used to say to my English teacher... "More gooder."
Hey Jeff, love how you DON'T knock someone's work. Then say, " I like it to be my way", all with respect. You don't belittle anyone. Your a good man. I've learned a lot by watching you video's. I going to build me a smoker like the one you built, here in the spring. Nothing taste better then smoked food. Looking forward to more of your DIY videos. Take care and be safe.
Lol, "not saying anything bad about the work." Don't know how many times I have said something similar when thinking to myself "damn, were they drunk when they built this?" Love your work and your clear vision.
it was still work and jeff is respecting that. Not everyone has the same knowledge, practice and abilities. If you hate on everything that's not perfect, people will stop doing anything, because nothing man-made is truely perfect. No matter how hard you work, it will not be up to some guys standards in some regards - and jeff knows that. Him respecting inferior work is him being wise.
Usually the saying goes you get what you pay for applies, also how many sayings is it about the plumbers house is leaking or cobblers kids shoes not fitting or something along those lines
You are a beast! I just built a roof over my deck by my self and it took me 3 days but I am 67 and had 5 back surgeries lol. Love all your videos Jeff Preciate ya
I gotta say Jeff....you are the real deal. Respect. I been builder 35yrs. Came up in the trades. You have great integrity and skill sets. I also appreciate that you don't run people down. That's real class.
All I know is whenever I'm about to build a house somewhere, I'm calling Jeff, forget the contractors. He's gonna make sure everything's straight and level. Good job sir, keep pushing. 👍😉
Can’t tell you how many times I’ve told people that the panels weren’t the same... people don’t realize that metal panels can come from the same manufacturer and the same machine and still won’t match up... the rollers might not be set right, they might have run them a little too tight or a little loose... but if you are of a 1/32” which is minuscule, unless you have say 70’ to do and in 70’ that 1/32” has thrown you over 2” off...
Good morning ☕️ I hired a contractor due to time constraints of my job. He’s no Jeff Barron that’s for sure. I got home from work, his truck is here. Where is he? Found him sleeping in the laundry room, thought he was dead so I rolled him over. He asked if it was time to go home...
Y’all must live in a tight area to keep sayin’ you are not talking bad about the previous builder....who gives a damn!? It’s your house! Change whatever the hell you want. If it is built sub par...not your fault, you’re fixing it🤣🤣🤣
This would have taken me 2 months. I built a 16X20 deck, hand build the hand rails and steps. It was around 2+ months to build it. I only had an about an hour each night after work and I had no idea what I was doing. But it turned out very nice. I do NOT posses the skill set Jeff has.
Well Jeff it’s a shame you got to keep saying how your not shaming the other guy should be able to call it how it is, but understand you gotta cover your own ass. Keep them videos coming bud.
Jeff you have some skills. I wish you would show us how do you some of the simple stuff like leveling off the new posts or matching up the metal roof. My Dad never taught me any of these things would make your channel more informative
I wonder if the people who built that are watching this and complaining besides you don't have to defend something that you're confident enough in regardless of others but you will if you feel shameful about it.
I sure do not live in the south where you folks do but, that porch roof looks to me as it needs a lot more pitch in order to keep water from running back and down the front walls of house during a hard rain. Just wondering ?
I watch Jeff each morning for inspiration. Better than coffee! "You are the average of the five people you hang around the most." - Jim Rohn. Since I can't hang around Jeff and his people this is the next best thing. God bless!
Another great video Jeff...I like how you explain your proposed scope of work ...gives me a real sense of what's going on...also love the country setting of this little home...
We need to start calling Hannah The FANTOM!!! She shows up eats leaves? It’s cool jeff is doing a project and he says Hannah will be here soon so let’s get at it!!! Jeff does it all then the Fantom shows up!!! Thats funny shit she kills me. Lmao
Jeff when you say you are going to put the camera on high speed it goes superfast and you get the job done very fast. It sure looks better done straight like that.
I appreciate your videos. Makes me feel like watching my late dad working and learning from him. Your a good man Jeff, smart man. Thank you for your videos.
