First two days of our Porcupine Mountain Adventure starts with a 3 mile hike to Mirror Bunk 2 Cabin on Mirror Lake. An easy trek into the cabin but if lots of rain it would be very mucky. The cabin is absolutely adorable and comes equipped with all the kitchen amenities you need. We would suggest bringing candles and or another source of light other than your headlamp as it gets dark real fast. There is a canoe at the lake to use during your stay and PFD's at the cabin. Lots of fishing to be had and we hiked the Summit Trail out en route to the Lake Superior Trail.

Stayed in that cabin in September of 2018. Got very cold outside but we really got the stove rocking. Great trip.

Looks like a great experience! Stacie and I spent one night at the park a few years ago and got to see the lake of the clouds and summit peak. We also spent some time along the Presque Isle river on the south end of the park. We would love to get back for a few more nights with Adalyn some time and do some more hiking there!

It was a fun trip....we kind of did a hybrid...two days at the cabin...then two nights on Lake Superior.....you two should definitely stay in a cabin.

A bit more modern than the cabins I've seen in the White Mountains National Forest. (not counting the AMC huts) You're glamping. LOL.

Personally I would call that a bow saw not a buck saw (but many folks do call that style a buck saw) At just under 3 miles, that looks like it would be a great place to winter camp and ice fish.

Not all DNR parks have them.....we are actually headed up north next week to stay at another cabin but snowshoe in....and yes....start your spice rack.

What makes a place a "Trailhead?" How did they get that cabin back there? Was it prefab or built on location? Glad you got your beverages there in icy cold condition. Is there anything beside extra light sources you would pack next time?

Oh Boy......Trailhead...the beginning of your hike starts at the top ( head) ....the cabins were built on location....kinda cool stories about them actually....we actually brought too much stuff with us this time...Can’t wait to hike with you!
