This is amazing. I never thought about how repeated bass lines had a huge impact on how we perceive the underlying chords. Really awesome! Thanks a lot :)

Great tuto man! Just that the Deadwing riff you played, it's even faster. It's twice as fast as the fast one you played in the end i.e one note per riff cycle.

Thank you Antoine, another great lesson. I don't know that much about music theory (... and by the way, what I know I learned from you ,,,), but I think I discovered another pedal point: Arriving somewhere but not here (you introduced the piece in the first part with the chord tricks), use the constant D as a pedal point, right?
@AntoineMichaudGuitar
@AntoineMichaudGuitar 4 года назад
Yes, that would be a pedal point in this song! ...until around the 4:00 minute mark where the full band comes in. At that point in the song, even if the guitar uses the constant D, the bass changes the notes underneath, and those notes are lower than the guitar, so this isn't considered a pedal point anymore from that point in the song. Hope that makes sense!

Hey Antoine, I love your vids btw and I have a question about what effects are you using to get his ambient sound in .3 for instance? I know there's some delay but what else is he using? Steven Wilson is a genius. Hope you checked out their new song Harridan that just came out! Thanks in advance
