Fun fact: According to Gavin Harrison, this re-recording only happened because some DJ in America told their then label at the time (Lava/Atlantic) he would play Shesmovedon on the radio all the time if they re-recorded it w/Gavin cause it was his favorite song ever. He never did.
I just bumped onto this song, doesn't listening to PT a lot. But this, this song blowed my mind away. The Solo is just incredible. Sorry for my bad english, it's not my mother tongue.
This version of the song was released as a hidden track on the US release of Deadwing. I actually forgot about it because it's not listed, it's one of those tracks that starts after some dead space.
My girlfriend back in my school days used to tell me stories of her train travels. I explored it and found it truly fascinating too. We got separated and she moved on, still her memories make me long for her. J
You move in waves You never retrace Your newest craze Straight out of the Face by the bed unread I'm left behind Like all the others Some fall for you It doesn't make much difference if they do She changes every time you look By summer it was all gone, now she's moved on She called you every other day So savior it it's all gone, now she's moved on So for a while Everything seemed new Did we connect? Or was it all just biding time for you? She changes every time you look By summer it was all gone, now she's moved on She called you every other day So savior it it's all gone, now she's moved on she's moved on she's moved on she's moved on She changes every time you look By summer it was all gone, now she's moved on She called you every other day So savior it it's all gone, now she's moved on Called other day She's moved on Called other day She's moved on
Thanks to her for moving on. Otherwise, we wouldnt get this masterpiece out of SW and PT. I hope she listened to this song and saw what she left behind.
+Sumit Mohanty Åkerfeldt sings backing vocals on "Deadwing", "Lazarus", "Shesmovedon" and "Arriving Somewhere But Not Here" and plays a guitar solo on "Arriving Somewhere But Not Here" on the 2005 album Deadwing.
Lyrics : You move in waves You never retrace Your newest craze Straight out of the face by the bed unread I'm left behind Like all the others Some fall for you It doesn't make much difference if they do She changes every time you look By summer it was all gone - now she's moved on She called you every other day So savior it it's all gone - now she's moved on So for a while Everything seemed new Did we connect? Or was it all just biding time for you? She changes every time you look (All gone away) By summer it was all gone - now she's moved on (She's moving on) She called you every other day (All gone away) So savior it it's all gone - now she's moved on (She's moving on) She's moved on She's moved on She's moved on She changes every time you look By summer it was all gone - now she's moved on She called you every other day (All gone away) So savior it it's all gone - now she's moved on (She's moving on) All gone away She's moving on All gone away She's moving on All gone away She's moving on All gone away She's moving on
I loved this cover of shemoved on. It mixes 3-4 versions of the taking the best part from each ,making it sound so much better. ru-vid.com/video/%D0%B2%D0%B8%D0%B4%D0%B5%D0%BE-XaNzAVoAxoI.html
The Lightbulb Sun version will always be close to my heart, but there's no arguing with this guitar solo. Here are the lyrics: You move in waves You never retrace Your newest craze Straight out of the face by the bed unread I'm left behind Like all the others Some fall for you It doesn't make much difference if they do She changes every time you look By summer it was all gone -- now she's moved on She called you every other day So savor it, it's all gone -- now she's moved on So for a while Everything seemed new Did we connect? Or was it all just biding time for you? She changes every time you look (All gone away) By summer it was all gone -- now she's moved on (She's moving on) She called you every other day (All gone away) So savor it, it's all gone -- now she's moved on (She's moving on) She's moved on She's moved on She's moved on She changes every time you look By summer it was all gone -- now she's moved on She called you every other day (All gone away) So savor it, it's all gone -- now she's moved on (She's moving on) All gone away She's moving on All gone away She's moving on All gone away She's moving on All gone away She's moving on
This is my favorite version. I love 1:29 when they say the title then the note that is held in the background sounds. It makes me think of a sky right after a sunset.
Ok so I definitely prefer the lightbulb sun version, I like the less distorted solo, this one is a little hard to distinguish the notes. But, I must say the drumming is fantastic
Listening to sad music makes our own sadness feel better. Not sure if that's how to best explain it, but hopefully you'll understand. I'm on the same boat. Very suicidal and shit. I feel loads better now that I started listening to Porcupine Tree/Steven's solo thingy, despite talking about breakups, being ignored by the people we love and sorrow for mistakes made. Here's to you bouncing back to the happy side of life! Cheers.
