Oh how you make me hungry not only to eat all your delicious recipes but to go back home to my island Maui.....take care aunty and aloha always from Oklahoma
This is the best recipe I’ve seen. Kalnoa delivers me a meal once a day and I love this dish! Looked for the recipe because I had it today. Do very good. Now when my daughter has to take care of me, I can have her make this for me.
Just found your channel, looking forward to watching more so I can learn how to make our local dishes. When I lived back home I took it for granted that I could easily get these dishes from someone's party or family gathering. Now that I live mainland, I gotta learn how to make it all - ono looking. I going look if you get chicken long rice!
Yes, I was like that too. My mom was a fantastic cook but I never wanted to learn. When I went to University of Kansas, couldn't stand the food in the dorm so I only stayed one semester. I didn't know how to cook and made dumb mistakes. Only when I went home did I learn by standing in the corner with my notebook and took notes since there was no recipe. Trial and error, here I am.
I thought I did a video on chicken long rice but I didn't. I'll put that on the list for a video. This is a very easy recipe and one of my grand daughter's favorite.
@@HawaiisPickleLady awesome thank you! I'll be looking for a pickle mango and pickle sweet onions recipe too. My mom used to make it all the time but when I looked at her cookbooks she handwrote only the ingredients but no directions lol. Mom passed over 25 years ago so I'm glad people like you are helping us "kids" who didn't pay attention when we lived at home!
I make mine the same but never added, "pimento". Found some roasted red peppers at Don Q's on Kaheka. I'm very interested in how its going to taste. Mahalo Nui Loa
Love watching you eat, when you're quiet for awhile your savoring the flavors, I enjoy that. Mahalo sharing on Facebook for My Malihini Ohana on Mainland interested in Hawaii cooking💖
