Does this have a computer software to see all the places where the car has recently been? I have the pormido PR 990 and don’t know if I should get the GPS antenna. What do you recommend?
Hi Albaro, it does not. The only place the GPS info is stored is on the video or picture as part of the image and not embedded for a separate app to use. The GPS location and speed are embedded in the lower left corner of the video or picture if the antenna is connected. That's why my videos have a black rectangle there... I cover that up. It's very accurate as I also use a phone app called AutoMate that uses my phone GPS to show my speed and increase/decrease my phone audio to match my speed. Both the AutoMate and Pormido show the same speed. On occasion the Pormido can't find a GPS signal and sure enough neither can the AutoMate phone app. So any GPS issues I may have sometimes isn't a fault of the dashcam antenna. I recommend the GPS antenna, especially if you drive in heavy traffic as I do. I would imagine this would be helpful in the event of an accident and insurance companies get involved.
I got mine on amazon.com. I didn't hook up the rear camera because I wanted to test out the front camera for a while before spending time and money on installing the rear camera. I'm glad I waited because the front camera stopped working a few weeks after daily use. It overheated.
