I recieved my Porphis spray gun today. The prd-717 with a 1.4 tip. And the very first thing that i thought was. Quality i mean Quality. When you think Chinese and low cost you are not thinking of this kind of quality. This gun is hands down beautiful. And absolutely well built spray gun .Great job Porphis. And feels great in my hand. Looking forward to taking this thing for a spin.

Hi Mate, They are a quality tool, I think you'll love it, I know I love mine, definitely worrying the big boys in the spray world, let us know what you think when you've used it. The PRD717 can be used at quite low pressures with good results, so try experimenting a little, cheers, buddy 👍

Thanks for another great side by side video. I love my 717 although I only have the 1.3 tip set. Interesting to see the comparisons with the Iwata. Haven’t noticed the weight difference but you are right about the feel or balance. Looking forward to your review of the new mini gun. As always, I appreciate you sharing your knowledge

Looks like the Porphis is real deal. It's a great option for the Diy guys out here then you can buy a few and not kill your budget. I don't see a issue with the longevity as long as Porphis continues to back the guns with repair parts that are available to consumers .

@peteshobbies5383
@peteshobbies5383 День назад
Hi Mate, Yes, normally full fan and full fluid. The split tip guns don't put out lots of material, so they never overwhelm a project. The pressure you use these will vary widely on what you are doing but may find around 25psi to be the sweet spot, cheers buddy 👍

Thanks for all the great videos, which of the porphis guns would you recommend that would get clear on fast? (Most like the sagola) or would you just recommend sagola? I have a big job on a police truck in 95° weather in Florida. (humid) and have to get the material on quickly. Thanks again.

Hi Pete. I have the 717. Would you say it's not worth buying a LPH400 or Wider4L if I have a PRD717? Reason I ask is because I have an opportunity to buy a LPH400 at a good price with the silver cap.
@peteshobbies5383
@peteshobbies5383 10 дней назад
Hi Mate, I think the PRD717 is a better gun than the LPH400, I've only got the LVX Orange cap, but, I have a Wider4L which has the same cap, different threads on the bezel but the bit that does the work is the same as the silver caped LPH400 and IMO the Porphis is better than both. The Wider4L and LPH400 are supposed to run, according to Iwata, at 1.1bar, so 16psi but most run them around 21 to 24 psi to get a flatter finish, the Porphis seems to run well at a huge range of pressures with ease, so a better gun IMO.

Hi Pete, a cracking comparison between these two guns mate the 717 really lays the clear on nice as does the Wider4L but it looks like the 717 puts out a wetter pattern making it easier to get a full wet coat down, it's not always the size of the fan that counts but the quality plus a wetter pattern is better for clear👌 I know I keep saying I'm going to get a Porphis gun but yet again I'm having financial problems which I wont go into on here, still having problems with my brother as well I really don't know what's going on there, happy days!!🙄😁😆 Thanks Pete👍
@peteshobbies5383
@peteshobbies5383 3 месяца назад
Hi John, Yes, people often assume a bigger pattern is better, but there's much more to it than just size. Well, that's what I tell the wife 😉 . The Porphis is definitely worth getting mate when you get some spare money. Hopefully, it won't be too long. Cheers John 👍

Ah yes mate as the old saying goes it's not the size that matters it's what you do with it that has the desired effect🤭😆 One day I will get the 717 mate no matter what it takes even if I have to walk the streets 🚨mind you that would probably cost me money😁😅thanks Pete👍

Hi Pete! I ordered the MPH338 as well. Got it in the 0.8 tip. The email from them said it also can come with a 0.5 and a 1.0 tip. Now I only see the 0.8 and 1.0 tip in their website available to order. But I am not seeing the tips sold separately. Do you know if they will make them available separately? I would like to get the 1.0 and maybe the 0.5 as well at some point if I like the gun for the smaller repairs.

Hi Mate, If you message them, you should be able to get a tip set separately. Use the email I've put in the description. The email I received also says 0.5 as well, this is all very new, so I expect they will offer it once they have caught up with production

Great video Pete!! I was in love with the Wider4L for a while until i discovered it it used alot of air. I have a 100Ltr compressor so its a no go. What full size/Midi gun do you recommend Pete for a Diy'er with a low air consumption around 300$ mark?

This is my first spray gun purchase. Should I get 717 or 715 for spraying clear and base coat I’m considering getting 717 tip for clear and a NNK 715 mp 1.4 for spraying base

Hi mate, If you are buying a tip set as well, I would get the 717 in 1.3 for base and the 715 in 1.3 for clearcoat, unless you live somewhere very hot and like a very very fast gun, 1.3 will be enough in the PRD715

Hi, probably the 717, they are quite different to use, the 715 is much faster, more like a Sata 5000 RP, the 717 is more like an LPH400 or Wider4L, but better 😉

I am still using that PRD-715 1.3MM for clear coat instead of my Devilbiss DV1-C Clear Coat gun. Sure the porphis I spray at 29psi compared to the Devilbiss DV1-C's 10psi but the porphis puts a lot more volume out while atomizing extremely fine. I use that PHS-155 1.8MM for primer/sealer too. I hope these guns make these other companies rethink their prices. All 3 of my DV1's were expensive and before those I used Walcom and those Genesi360 guns were almost $900. There is no reason for a spray gun to cost that much. Walcom has to be pocketing $650 off every genesi360 or alumino360 they sell
