I quit my job because I don’t feel like I gained anything from it, but I heard this on the radio whilst there so at least I got an awesome new artist out of it
A truly special song that we’re lucky to be in on from the start. Big hooks, strong lyrics that resonate, powerful angst-ridden vocals. One day, it will catch fire like Mr. Brightside and absolutely explode. Mind. Officially. Blown.
This tune is so intense that once I shared it with someone and they got back to me saying: "Jeez let's take the intensity down a notch". That killed me. But the art of this song is still there, and so is love 🍻 Cheers people
I heard this song on the radio, it felt like everything I’m going through. This song really hit me and felt like this song was playing just for me. I’m so glad I heard this song.
Cracking track.. Cheers Six Music for championing this song this week. I had not really payed much attention to this band until I heard this song tonight. I am going to be rewatching their KEXP set with our Cheryl!!!!👍
[Verse 1] I've been waiting such a long time for you And you know that I could never lie to you You don't give me half the patience that I taught you I taught you love And you never gave me enough [Verse 2] And I can't tell you that I'm wasted And I can't tell you that I'm wasted on you And I think about your body How it's wasting, how it's wasting And I'm wasted telling jokes to you 'Cause you can't hear me, you can't hear me You can't hear a word I'm saying And you're not here but your body is getting closer every day [Chorus] And I wade Until I'm knee deep in water, I can't breathe And I can never tеll you that I've had enough And I can nevеr make it stop And I can't tell you that I'm wasted on you [Bridge] So I wade deeper Plunge my head into the water Sink into it, rise above it Climb into the sky, I love it I love it [Outro] Do you ever think about who you were then and who you are now? Do you ever think about who you were then and who you are now? Do you ever think about who you were then and who you are now? And I miss you but I'll never ever, ever, ever, ever, ever, ever, ever, ever, ever, ever, ever, ever
Wait... wtf??? This song is fucking great and only 9 comments???? This will blow up for sure there’s no way people won’t feel some sort of 90s nostalgia with this song ESPECIALLY during 2020s bullshit !!!
I love the song, but I personally can't help but hear a murder story in the second verse. The singer has literally killed her partner and is going a little crazy like living with the body and telling it jokes as it decomposes.
