yeah, they could be fun on some curvy roads for sure. Main objective was for sound and power but they typically handle similarly due to having the same suspension setup.
What does this bad boy costs? I know it's a recreation, but damn does it look and sound incredible. I was just wondering. I know a few companies build them around the United States and they vary in quality. What company builds a really good quality one of these 550 Spyder's? Beck? Outlaw? any others that are really good? I see you mentioned a Brazilian company I have never heard of. I know that the Argentinians made incredible recreations of Bugatti (PurSang) and a few others but have not heard of any Brazilian companies yet. I might have to check that out. I know that Pur Sang are so meticulous in their recreations. I would love to find a company that could do something really close to the original. I am open to a new modern engine for sure as long as the car LOOKS just like the original from the outside appearance. Thanks for any information.
My best friend/landlord's dad has a Beck's 955 spyder and it is one of the most fun cars I have ever ridden in, the sounds of the 4-cyl turbo are nothing short of intoxicating. the quality is incredible, and every time we've ever stopped for gas, it took us 20 minutes to leave the lot after all the questions about it, it's a real head turner!
I love these, I just made a review of one myself. Take a look if you want more Porsche 550 Spyder action: ru-vid.com/video/%D0%B2%D0%B8%D0%B4%D0%B5%D0%BE-4PWec_VKUYA.html. Thanks!
This is a completely different tube frame chassis with a 4-link coil over suspension, DeDion tube and PanHard bar. This is a 550-6 kit. You cannot convert a normal kit to accept a 911 6 motor. It must be done from the start. That is what makes this car so rare.
Aussie Tom, it is older with no modern requirements for safety. Is all I have is a lap belt and my hands to grab onto something in a wreck... hoping that never happens. It is titled as a 1955 Porsche. No wheel alignment needed.. everything is straight, just uneven roads occasionally that I have to counter with steering wheel to go straight. With wide tires and light car it grabs everything on the road if I'm not paying attention. Cheers mate, Bryan
Salescoachmike!! Sounds like jealousy to me. Thanks for taking us along for a ride. I enjoyed it. To me these are the most beautiful cars ever built and I have no problem with them being turned into Outlaws. Even more beautiful. Thanks again.
While I'm normally all about performance specs, this car makes me care about them a little less. It looks as good as any car anywhere and is the best at taking a sunny day cruise to the beach.
First video ever and only put on RU-vid back in the day to see how it looked... zero editing was done. If you look at any of my newer videos you'll see I'm getting better and editing a ton. True beginner back then and was just having fun.
1st gear is fine, unsure what you're referring to. My original car (the 6cyl kit) had a rod to shift and it was a pain to find the gears at times (unless you were used to it) and was also hard to fine tune. Otherwise these can be great cars and very reliable... just a tad exposed in the sun. Sometimes I think I should wear a sombrero to be 100% safe!! PS.. I added a recent new video comparing 3 different engine setups. Have a look on my page if interested.
I have one of these cars but with a VW hi performance engine. It is fun but worthless compared to the beast in this video. Shaa-zam. That's a Porsche engine in there...so clearly mods had to happen to make it fit.
All you people who are having sex with that car the steering wheel is wrong the interior is wrong and the body is not shown ,and the engine is misfiring and his driving was a highway speed which you could do in prius ,Go for it movie star
