The king of carwow drag races, the Porsche 911 Turbo S, is BACK! And it's got some new competition to take on... An Audi RS3 saloon?!

Having the engine at the back of the car is the best set up for acceleration. A front or mid engine car can't compete with this set up.

That audi tune is impressive. I reckon if he had a way better start he would've beaten the porsche. Still amazing how that porsche does 10.1 secs every time though

I used to have an S3 with ecu and dsg tune...nothing extreme, just a stage 1 tune! The reason that tuned RS3 can’t get a good launch is most likely due to the dsg’s “Torque Management” system that’s built into its programming. It’s essentially just a software controlled fail safe that prevents too much torque going through the clutches based on gear, load, etc. Apparently, this cannot be overridden even via a dsg software tune from what I was told.

makeithappen bourriht - yeah, I know!! Just saying that a tune in the RS3 will still be slightly restricted by the dsg programming! Basically, the dsg doesn’t allow full torque through the drive train in the the first 2 gears. Not a lot of people realise this though. It’s why the RS3 beats it in the gear acceleration runs, cause after 2nd fear, full engine torque is allowed !! Don’t get me wrong...not taking anything away from the Porsche...was just posting so everyone can get a better idea why the launch in it wasn’t that great, when in theory, everyone would expect it to be a lot better :)

For the brake test the brakes themselves aren’t what win the test, it’s the TIRES. You need good contact patch and good coefficient of friction for that. Better brakes will allow you to do it more than once but the TIRES are what determine stopping distance

except the gt2 rs held the nurburgring record until a hypercar with f1 technology for a ridiculous price had to be made to beat it... the new gt2 rs isnt even out yet either, so name me a better car around the track? Also out of the Top ~90 fastest production car lap times, The Porsche 911 Holds 20 places in that list, so nearly a quarter of times, then if you just look at porsche as a company they have like over a third of the times in the top ~90 places.... @@ethanstorm1735

The tuned 992 Turbo S will be a sub 2 seconds car at 0-60 mph! With just a little more power it gets near 2 seconds flat, because the stock version needs only 2.5 seconds...

LoL Porsche fans ... the only impressive thing about the Turbo S is the 0-60, because when it is in motion it is slower than many supercars. on the autobahn he has no chance against a 488, aventador S or any McLaren. but it's a nice car, I just think the fans are really exaggerated

Mat I read this somewhere that you should with Turbo S To achieve such a quick launch to 60 mph, put the Turbo S in its Sport mode-not Sport Plus because it engages all of the active aerodynamics-and Sport traction in Porsche Stability Management (PSM). Launch control in Sport mode holds the rpm at around 4000, but smashed the Sport Response button in the center of the steering-wheel-mounted drive-mode dial to jump up to just over 5000 rpm. Then, released the brake

Besides. Smooth, relatively quiet fast cars are more appealing than loud and fast cars. It gives the car a more sophisticated feel. Which is why I love the 720s. Just gets the job done without screaming or flexing.
