Porsche 914 Roll Bar Pad

Gary Cotton i’m a younger old fart with a 72 the same year my father graduated high school. I have had three of these cars and I bought the 72, restored it in honor of my father.

It said that on the package but being an old fart from the California desert who has never skied, I was totally unfamiliar with any ski rack on a 914. I figured since they were in the shipment, maybe they were supposed to work somewhere with this particular reproduction piece. It later dawned on me about the six holes on the underside of the roll bar ( which has absolutely nothing to do with the replacement pad) and I did have some plugs missing there so it all worked out. The other good news is the 914 Rubber plugs I tried to use were previously used in the original pad and didn't hold well in the new one. Perhaps due to heat & shrinkage over time. However I had a new bag of 914 rubber plugs and tried them. They fit snugly and held in place perfectly. Thanks for writing.
