There is another sound coming from your engine in this video, a higher pitched sort of metallic sound. Did you happen to figure out the source? Mine is making an identical sound and i am trying to figure it out.
Hello and thank you for checking out the video. That high pitched sound was coming from my auxiliary air control valve. ru-vid.com/video/%D0%B2%D0%B8%D0%B4%D0%B5%D0%BE-Hw3_PHCp3LU.html
That’s not an idle control valve, it’s a basic valve to raise the idle when the AC is on and is simply on or off. Cleaning it probably made no difference to your problem, fixing the vacuum leak is the solution. P.S. You need to put a cap and cover on the jump post to prevent shorting the battery with a wrench.
I was thinking that was such a convenient location on that model engine. On the 32V S4 engine (87 onwards) the IACV is under the MAF, to get to it I believe the whole intake manifold and MAF module have to be removed. Mine is fine at the moment, but I will buy a new one as this is a definite replacement item, along with the hoses, crank position sensor and intake manifold vacuum actuator all positioned under the intake manifold and impossible to service without major surgery.
