To repair a steering gear by yourself is a good recommendation for every 944 owner suffering a leaky steering gear and suicidal tendencies.

Great video! Question: How do you remove the input shaft seal that's inside the aluminum tower housing? (The seal you showed how to replace at 3:00.)

In case it helps someone I got the input shaft seal out with a cheap Harbor Freight puller, it's the perfect size: www.harborfreight.com/3-jaw-pilot-bearing-puller-4876.html

Hi, does anyone knows if that internal rod is interchangeable between RHD and LHD racks? Mine has some teeth wear off, and I couldn't find reasonable priced LHD rack, so was considering buying RLD one for some spare parts
