Tip...don't hammer on to any bare threads!!!. Leave the nut min 4 turns in and tap down until it is loose / free and then remove nut and allow the joint to come out. Hammering the threads will crush them and prevent for smooth refit. Good video
When hammering tie rod ends out of the wheel carrier, leave the nut on protruding over the end of the stud. This prevents damage to the stud. Replace the nuts with new nuts per instructions.
Thanks for the trick with the screwdriver when removing the axle from the differential! Did you have to do the same thing when putting it back in? Do you know the torque specs of those 6 bolts?
A trick I've heard is to use your body weight. I think the spec is 320 ft-lbs for the axle nut. I weigh 200 pounds. My breaker bar is 1.5 feet. Torque the nut as tight as you can. Then with the help of a friend, have him hold the socket in place with the bar parallel to the ground. You step on the end of the breaker bar. If I can apply my entire body weight on it, then that's 300 ft-lbs (200 lbs x 1.5ft). Close enough.
