What was the job that you did on the motor? I could see that you spent a fair amount of time cleaning the timing chain cover.

I like your work VERY much. I feel envy for you, for to know and to be able to work on such amazing monsters. I'm not a big Porsche guy but I can recognize those are special machines and always interesting watching people working on them. Congratulations. Keep going, keep uploading content like this. There will be always petrolheads happy to watch it. By the way, if you accept an advice of a watcher, could you put subtitles or text inserts with a little explain of what are you doing, during the video? I think that could help people like me, with just a little mechanics knowledge. Greetings from Spain!! 😊🤘🫵👍👍👍

What was the problem? Leaking front crank seal? Broken chain guide? Instead of buying a new 3/4 to 1/2" adapter, wouldn't it make sense to buy a 3/4 socket in the right size? What is it, 24, 27mm? It wouldn't have to be impact.
@JoshShare
@JoshShare 3 года назад
That’s a great question. It’s been a while since I’ve done one but the timing cover bolts break causing the leak. As far as the socket goes, I think it’s because no one in the shop actually owned a 3/4” torque wrench. Idk why but everyone in the shop did it that way with an adapter

Very impressive skills!! By the way, I was wondering, I'm currently an Audi Tech and was considering to work for Porsche. Is it worth the switch? They will pay me more, but looks like the hours are less. How many warranty hours is that job?

@5:00 When I do these types of job, I lean that holding tool against the enginestand or floor and tourque from the right side downwards. If I cant turn the crank I just torque it about 100Nm (73lbft) and torque it to right specs later. Is it the same torquespecs as audi engine? 150Nm (110lbft) and 180 degree?

But what about using the straight edge to make sure the timing cover is level at the bottom!!!!! My second month in I had to rip a head off a turbo cayenne engine.... It's wasn't fun lol
@JoshShare
@JoshShare 4 года назад
I’ll have to double check the work shop manual but the biggest concern is making sure it’s even where the cover meets the cylinder heads
@JoshShare
@JoshShare 4 года назад
And what’s up buddy?! Kind of ironic we both ended up at Porsche lol
@pierre-josephkamel9412

I think their logic is if it's even at the bottom then it's even at the top... Which means the inverse is the same. They still made my Rip the oil pan off. I know right! Next month I head to ATL for my first class. I'm way behind on my bronze book i have to catch the paper work up
