Nice content. I sold my 997 GT3 RS 4.0 last year and currently have a GT4 RS and Spyder RS. I think the GT4 RS is a very special production car, and I still can't believe they actually put the GT3 engine into the Cayman. I feel like the manual gearbox gives you a lot more interaction, but at the same time it proves rather tiring after a short period of time. Having the PDK gearbox in the GT4 RS makes it so much more useable.

Great video. Haven't driven either, but makes sense. When the BMW 1-Series M came out, it was celebrated as a spiritual successor to the E30 M3. "A little bigger, a little bigger, a little bigger" is always the progression for cars, along with more amenities. But when something small and engaging with more driver feedback comes out, enthusiasts rejoice.

4RS is the car I’m hot for. I could buy one now, but decided to buy more real estate instead. Really not going to pay $30-40k over which is where they are at still!

I personally don’t see the market coming down much on them from where they are now. They are off the $75-100k over highs that they were at but allocations on new ones are super slim and car is a future classic 100% My guess is $25k ish over will be the bottom if it even gets to that point

@@jameswillard1 I think we have some hard economic times ahead my man. Too much debt and too much inflation means Fed can’t cut much, plus an election cycle about to go full steam. I’d say in tougher times only the best examples will remain over MSRP.

@@Driven-Productions agree with what your saying but in my experience Porsche GT cars are least affected car brand in terms of state of the economy. The fact that they can come out with models that are 90% marketing BS (like 911R or 911 S/T both great cars but not significantly better than regular GT3’s) and charge a small fortune with no shortage of people wanting to give Porsche their money never ceases to amaze me

Great vid, as always, Mick! You have an unique insight into Porsches which I really enjoy. BTW, M4 gone; 2024 Stingray in its place. I really enjoyed the BMW--fast as hell, luxurious, best Sports Coupe made. But....German cars can be enjoyed and respected. They can't be loved like a Vette. (Which I did for my '18) The only exception: Porsches. That's where you really click! 500 mile breakin done, and have already driven it the way sports cars are supposed to be driven--as you well know!

If I had the Jerry Seinfeld/ Jay Leno/ Tom Cruis/ etc garage I would spend the premium and buy the 997.2 RS as you just did. However, I’ve owned older P-cars (2 turbos) and given that I can only have one in my garage I went for the 991.2 RS. I miss the manual wish I could have both. You made the right choice- but so did I!

I have a 600LT spider and drove 4RS on multiple occasions. The 600LT is on a different league compared to the Porsche. It is better in every metric. It is faster. Looks better, sounds better in the spider form, Joe exotic. More visceral experience. Comparing a Porsche to any LT model is blasphemy. The porsche is a nice sports car for super car money. Its no supercar.

@@Therealtrump544 Let's go point by point... Completely subjective, but here is what I think each car excels in. IMO 4RS sounds much better than 600. 4RS Handles better than 600, brakes better than 600, isn't that much slower (1 second difference 60-130) and just as fast with headers and exhaust. Will dust the 600 on a track and let you lap 1000 times without breaking. Also 600 impossible to get in and out of. 600LT is a compromised road car compared to the 4RS. 600 infotainment is shit, key doesn't always work, the interior falls apart if you leave the car in the sun for too long. The 765 is a MUCH better product from McLaren. On the other hand, 600LT is more raw, it has better steering, it has more theater. I used to love shooting flames from the exhaust. It looks considerably better, you can hear everything hitting the carbon tub, ETC. In conclusion, they are both relatively affordable sports cars and around the same price. I know you're a fan of the 600, but objectively there are so many things the 4RS does better as a car.

Have a 992 GT3 and love it. It was my first GT car and so wanted to check the GT3 box. Still, the GT4RS looks amazing.

Very good and very accurate. Both are fabulous. No right or wrong decisions here. Personally, I prefer the 991.2 GT3 RS (I have owned a 997 GT3 RS - 3.8), why, because from a performance perspective and engineering perspective its next level and yet is still very raw.

I am a hardcore manual driver and will always be! I still have a V12 Vantage manual and agree I can drive any speed, any distance and nothing comes close to it. The 4RS is incredible! The sounds it makes are out of this world! I have it sitting between my V12 and 458 and couldn't be happier! Great video!!

@@MiamiMiles You should drive a manual v12 Aston Martin if you get the chance! So under rated!!! With the exhaust done it is just as loud and sounds just as good if not better than the 458 and 4rs!

@@rnlbluernlblue1380curious what exhaust you have in the Vantage S. I have a 2017 V12 vantage S and looking into modifying the exhaust. Need some ideas. I was planning just secondary cat delete. Do you have any recommendations

@@Therealtrump544 The secondary cat delete was my first step to and gave it some growl at about 4000rpm. Didn't change the tone at all. I added the Velocity AP super sport exhaust and it was insane! So both of these would make anyone happy! If you go headers they suggest adding the secondary cats back in.
