I don't know for sure if it would work. I would suggest not trying it though to risk a potential disaster. I would imagine that applying heat would just fuse the sticker to the decal causing both come off together. The heat could also affect the paint on the model as well. I would recommend you use water to help dissolve the sticker glue and not harm the decal. Then you can simply dry the model off after. As mentioned in the video as well. If you take the sticker off right away and carefully you shouldn't run into an issue.
