@@dar7279 The pieces making noise are only there to make noise. These pieces has no other purpose, as if they put a speaker to make sound. That's ridiculous, it's like repainting a rusty car body. In ice it's the opposite, we added mufflers and catalysts to artificially reduce the sound produced by the engine

@@MrGSA1310 It´s not! Well at least in Europe EVs are required to produce a "Pedestrian warning tone/noise" wenn driving below 50Kph and porsche simply used the mandatory speaker for a little more sound.

But the range is awful, that's a huge let down from a company like Porsche. I thought they would at least match a Tesla's range, but it's substantially worse.

@@casual9982 It is, it is, but I think the reason that they still haven't upgraded it, is because of the not bad, but really early EV infrastructure in Germany. In my eyes, Germans still see EVs as a second or as a fun car to have and not as main one. In my opinion around 400 kms range is what Porsche is really after. Very few people who have a garage, will think of owning an EV and that will be the case for at least 5 more years with the introduction of the EURO 7. And I think Volkswagen will have the best low budget EVs, Audi the mid-budget and Porsche the high-budget sedans and sport cars in the future. In terms of what Germany of course has to offer. More than 120 billions (around that) will be spent in Europe for the infrastructure and all that stuff. Like I don't want to let my 200k car 3 blocks away from me or even more! The time just really isn't there I think to make EVs the main cars at the moment. And to be honest I don't really understand the big fuss of the governments for EVs. Since new engines are much more eco-friendly nowadays, electricity is not produced from at least 80% natural resources like solar panels or wind turbines and other stuff (I'm talking about Germany, the Netherlands and Scandinavia are the best, but imagine the poorer countries). But the governments will pour a lot of money to generate electricity as natural as possible you know... Do not forget that Tesla's 2nd (I think 2nd) gigafactory is in Berlin, so they'll speed up the process. I just don't like Teslas that much haha, it's not my thing. @@redim777 I agree with you on your points made, we're seriously not ready for a full EV market. It's great for some people, but not for many others like you mentioned. The main issue I see with the Taycan is they'll be near worthless when the technology improves. Well, maybe not "near worthless" but for sure not very desirable if they have a newer Taycan with twice the range and half the charging time. I'm also curious to how well the batteries will be doing 5-10 years from now, if they'll be worn all the way out or have slower charging and even less range. For the price of a Taycan, there's too many unanswered questions in my opinion. I will say this, Taycan looks incredible. Best looking EV by far to me, I wish they made the Panamera look like that instead!

@@casual9982 I'm not an engineer or some kind of know-it-all, so whatever I say it may be false, but here's my "little" opinion. I think (I'm not 100% sure) that an ev engine depending on the type of the battery (there are a few, Tesla uses NCA batteries, you can look them up), lasts around 3000 cycles. I don't know exactly to what that translates, but it could be around 800k kms (I didn't find any specific info), which is a lot right? And in my opinion they're more efficient than ICEs. Degradation happens to combustion engines too, due to the heat affecting all the metals in there, the pistons will break, there's belts, crankshafts, all that stuff, they degrade over time. Well batteries degrade because of the charge and discharge, which weakens the chemicals and all that haha, I don't know, there's a lot of complicated stuff. So do not take my word for it, I'm just searching it on Google from different sources and estimate stuff because there's no direct answer. Although I couldn't get the exact type of battery Porsche uses, it is said that it's the first production vehicle with an 800 volt system which is faster and weighs less. But look... I don't like all these tricks used and all these marketing stuff they throw in order to make us buy these futuristic cars. The little trick they use 2 years now is with all the "fast-charging" chargers, which btw, are very rare at the moment (okay, it will be improved). But the catch is that this makes the battery much worse. I think it's because of the direct current that it gives to the battery, that's what I've understood. Now... Porsche released like a year now it's 19.2 kW chargers and they charge the car in like 5 hours. I should mention that it's for your home, not a public charger. I tried to calculate the degradation, but it's too complex for me and the data I think of a battery deterioration just isn't enough. Tesla have their own mix of materials used in their batteries that make them last a lot longer. Some Teslas still go after 600k kms. Porsche will still do more performance-related batteries, they won the Le Mans with a hybrid car. Every brand has it's tweaks, designs and all that. And they're selling those cars for the style and 0 emissions. At the moment, every EV is just not practical. I'm not waiting hours for it to charge. Think of the anxiety you'll have from letting your expensive car (there won't be any 9-15k car anymore, the costs will increase a lot) in another neighborhood because you couldn't find a spot next to your house. Even if there were fast-chargers everywhere and it would take around 2 hours (in like 20 years) and most people would have EVs, how would such demand be solved. Will every single road have a parking spot? I don't know about the US, but in Europe, having *now* an EV could be even better in comparison with what the future will bring. Just think of the chaos for finding a spot in like 20-30 years to charge your car. I don't know, estimating the future is really, hard and I'd like to hear your opinion too. All in all, if you ask me at the end of the day, I'd still say that EVs are the future, but at what cost, right?

@@redim777 Sir , we need an electric car like Volkswagen Beetle . Not changing to much things for decades , simple design , efficiency and most importantly CHEAP . God , every single thing is being expensive and more expensive ..... If Volkswagen manage to make a real CHEAP electric car without complex options and without super , hyper bla bla batteries . They will dominate the whole electric car sales .

That's mandatory on all EVs and PHEV's type approved after 2019 in Europe. They have to make a sound up to (at least) 25-30 kph
