We’re feeling it now. The flag awaits 20 years since we were great We’ve buried them all, we’ve rolled the dice A 37th premiership, really sounds nice. And back in the 70’s, black and white filled the rows One last team to bury, that team is the crows. We’ve come so close many times. We mostly win, you see? We are Port Adelaide. Always have been, always will be.
Such a shame Port had to change their Identity because other clubs have the same symbol, colours or a similar song. In European soccer, it is common for clubs in the same league to have the same/very similar colours and sometimes the same symbols and nicknames.
GO MAGPIES but COLLINGWOOD SUCKS REASON WHY 1. THEY COPPIED THE MAGPIES FROM PORT ADELAIDE MAGPIES 2. THEY COPPIED PORT ADELAIDE MAGPIES COLOURS 3. THEY COPPIED PORT ADELAIDE MAGPIES PRISON BARS 4. AND THE THINK THEY OWN IT THATS WHY I HATE U COLLINGWOOD
@@panayiotiponiros4082 stole ? as in PA wrote it ? anyway which song is it ? never tear us apart, the flags ours for the taking ? perhaps dancing queens. Let us know when you decide who you want to be PA in the SA league or PP in the AFL. 78 or whatever flags just shows how pathetically lame and loo sided the SA comp was. The big V always handed you your asses. Port Power is registered with the AFL and has a completely different song to PA registered with the SANFL so what are you on about ? There is only one Magpies team in the AFL .. get used to it .
Sydney did use it first tbf and even wrote to the University of Notre Dame back in 1961 for permission to use the tune. Port Adelaide didn’t adopt it until 1971.
you guys need to know that port magpies were the most successful in any Aussie rules history. winning 36 grand finals. thats something most people can't do
As much as I am a proud Crows fan J was disappointed to see them pull out of the SANFL. As much as I back my Crow boys every week and especially in the Showdown, I still have respect for Port Adelaide for being one of the oldest and most successful football clubs in Australia
They didn’t as the Swans had it first. The Swans have had it since the 1920’s when it gained permission from the University of Notre Dame in the US where it came from. The Port Magpies have only had since the early 70’s in the days they used to play South Melbourne in exhibition matches.
That doesn't really make sense considering both stole the song from Notre Dame in the 1960s and 70s and the original song was written in 1905. But from what I've found Sydney adopted it in 1961 and Port adopted it in 1972, not sure what they were using beforehand though.
TFAwards Sydney didn’t actually “steal it” from Notre Dame. They wrote to the university for permission to use the song in the 60’s when they were still South Melbourne. Port used to play the Bloods in pre season matches, liked the song so much and adopted it as theirs.
@@TFawards South Melbourne had a song to Springtime in the Rockies before it, as for Port Adelaide, I'm not sure, but there's some things floating around out there
