you see what happens to the fast food workers for demanding $4 more. many lose their jobs. and they are demanding 77% more from what they are earning right now?

They're going to get what they want in the short term. Then the companies will redouble their efforts to automate as much as possible. The longshoreman actually claim its a very dangerous job. That is a good application for automation. They're going to have to seek training to adapt to other work.

Anyone that just yells "recession" gets into the headlines.

My first job out of college in the early 80’s was selling tobacco products, mainly chewing tobacco and snuff, in South Florida’s lower east coast from Fort Pearce to Marathon Key in the Florida keys. Every month I would receive cases of chewing tobacco as samples to be given away, and I would always go to Port Everglades(Fort Lauderdale) and the Port of Miami to give out samples to the Longshoreman. When these guys saw my car pull up out on the tarmac the warehouses would empty out and I would have a hundred guys hanging out for a pouch of tobacco. It was a total work stoppage!!😂. They were all good dudes and it was an orderly affair but no work got done for 30 minutes at least. Banana’s what banana’s?
