Wheatley was designed to have terrible ideas. And what does he go and do? Become enemies with the only person who ever beat Glados. Seems he works as planned.

I remember when I played the game and Wheatley said "All you've ever done is boss me around." And I was like, I CANT EVEN SAY APPLE!

Best line in the game: "Oh hi. So, how are you holding up? BECAUSE I'M A POTATO."

No one realizes this but the announcer voice is the most powerful program in the facility, i mean its capable of switching glados with another core if the protocol demands it

Damn, when GLaDOS screams "NO!" when she is being detached from her body, it sends chills up my spine

"GLaDOS EMERGENCY SHUTDOWN AND CAKE DISPENSARY (KEEP UNLOCKED)" seems legit

I really love how the music change during the Wheatley's laugh.

Wheatley had no control over himself, since the mainframe is flawed. Which explains why Glados gassed everyone on Bring your Daughter to Work Day. Notice how both of them are kind and compassionate when they're not a part of that system.

"I AM *NOT! A! MORON!* " "YES YOU ARE! YOU'RE THE MORON THEY BUILT TO MAKE ME *AN IDIOT!!!* " One of the most intense moments in video game history, honestly.

My favorite part of this is that during the fall there are little incremental signs saying how far down you are, and if you measure the time between each one, it'll be about 4.5 seconds to fall 250 meters. In other words, they actually accounted for the terminal velocity of a falling human. The science never ends!

“He’s not just a regular moron. He’s the product of the greatest minds of a generation working together with the expressed purpose of building the dumbest moron who ever lived. And you just put him in charge of the entire facility.” *Clap. Clap* “Good, that’s still working.”

Wheatley’s evil laugh actually gives me chills, because I did NOT expect that on my first way through. I will never forget how genuinely surprised I was, this game is probably one of the best I’ve played.

"Yes you are! You're the moron they built to make me an idiot!" Best line, hands down.

i hated the ending, because, well, the game ended

So the plottwist is basically that going through the tubes IS fun even though they said it isn't. That blew my mind for the rest of the day when i first found out

There is something so chilling when glados says "the engineers tried everything to make me behave, to slow me down". You can almost sense their desperation.

i'll never forget the genuine feeling of shock and regret putting him in charge. he was clearly an idiot. i didn't expect becoming a good friend of before playing this game.

This is probably one of the best directed games ever! It's not only the voice work, but the graphics as well. Just see how Wheatly starts puffing up to make himself look bigger as soon as he takes control! Or the subtle change in his eye when the change happens.

When a 6-10 hour puzzle game has more depth, story, atmosphere, humor, and tension than 80% of the games that have been published for the past decade.

I remember thinking “wow is the game really this short.” Then Wheatley starts to laugh and the music swells and I just start laughing as well.

I remember mentally screaming in an exasperated voice WHEATLEY! when he drops you down the pit.

The lighting during the exchange of the cores and wheatley's corruption is absolutely amazing, i wish more games did stuff like that to really emphasize the tone

I think the twist works, because we don't know anything about Wheatley up until this point.

I don't see why everyone hates Wheatley for this. Valve said he was corrupted by the mainframe. And to dumb it down a bit, that means that any core that's attached to the mainframe is unintentionally corrupted with power. It's not a matter of choise, it's a matter of a glitch in the mainframe. Didn't you guys ever notice that GLaDOS was only evil when she was attached to her body? And how she was unusually nice when she got taken off of her body and got turned into a potato? And then how she returned to her usual attitude when she was put back on?(Hence the mean things she said about Chell in 'Want You Gone?') And then notice how Wheatley was pretty much your best friend all up until he was put on the thingy? You even saw him turn from nice to not nice just a few seconds after getting plugged in! And at the end of the game, after the song, AFTER he got taken off the body again, he stated that he wanted to apologize to Chell for what he'd done, and, in I-Quote "...Not just because I'm(He's) stranded in space..." That was the _real_ Wheatley talking. The only true way to stop any of this shit from happening again would be to fix the godamn mainframe. So see? GLaDOS isn't evil on purpose, and Wheatley wasn't either. The mainframe is the _real_ enemy here.

The thing that bothers me most about this is that Wheatley has genuinely good intentions, but because he has been specifically programmed to make terrible decisions as a hindrance to GLaDOS he ends up acting like a crazed power hungry maniac... because that’s the wrong decision to make, just like he’s programmed to do. Notice how throughout the rest of the game GLaDOS becomes more humble and calm without her power over the facility. With Wheatley it’s the opposite. It’s a difficult realisation to come to that by the end of the game you didn’t win the battle. Nobody did.

I love how Wheatley asks if a moron could do this only to realise that a moron in fact can do this and he says oh oh just before the elevator breaks.

Watching this for the fist time when I first heard him start to laugh manically I was like NOOOOO NOOOOO WAY MAN NOOOO. I always loved that kinda stuff like with the ending of Saw 1 or fight club .

Despite being a robot, Wheatley is bizarrely human. That’s not a good thing.

I remember seeing this scene the first time, and when he began juggling stuff around I immediately thought "Oh, he's getting power hungry...." And then the laugh And I freaked out

I thought video games had rendered me a total sadist, but...dude, the way GLADOS screams when they're replacing her? Kinda horrific and chilling

Wow. I loved this. The voice acting was so good, at the end when wheatly was screaming "IM NOT A MORON" it was perfect. We could hear the anger in his voice, but we could also hear the pain. It made me sad, but also really surprised. We dont get that many games with that much detail anymore that often. Honorable mention: GLaDOS' screams at 4:34
