Portal 2 - Save a turret from dying! 

Everytime I hear the line "Im different" and then "Thank you" my heart just melts.

When I met that turret I was like “that turret seems familiar” and I remembered that Wheatley wanted to rush past it because he thought that it was a regular turret! But I had subtitles on so even after I walked away I saw that it said “I’m different “ and my heart melted

When i finished the game for the first time on singleplayer, i didn't rescue this turret. Now i feel extremely awful.

When I first walk on the railing I though I was gonna get shot then looked at the turret then laughed until I heard it say "I'm different" then I felt sad and picked it up

The turret is so cute when it says "thank you" it's like having it as a pet.

I saved her, i immediately pick her up when she said i'm different, and I thought i can bring her everywhere, so I keep bringing her, but when she touch the blue thingy, she burn, and i was like "OMG NOOOOO I DIDN'T KNOW THAT, I THOUGHT SHE CAN PASS THAT, NOOOO I'M SORRY" :"( anyway how to turn on subtitles? I can't find the option #sorrybadenglish

Why does everyone think "it won't be enough" refers to the paradox? At this point in the game it's much more likely referring to you and Wheatley's plan to disable GLaDOS' offenses.

maybe that was a turret that was bought to defend the house (cave Johnson stuff) it got robbed and maybe the guy jacked it up and it was found at the junkyard and now it's there to I don't know

"it won't be enough" The Rat Man guy telling the scientists that a morality core on GLaDOS won't be enough. She later killed them all. "the answer is beneath us." Miles and miles down there are old, completely abandoned working spaces and test chambers along with hundreds of years old recordings by Cave Johnson which hold the truth to the creation of GLaDOS. "Her name is Caroline. Remember that..." Those quotes to me are so creepy, I dunno why.

it seems random but im sure they planted the little turret with some respect to the plot, because he doesnt just show up once, but twice, and has separate lines for it. Wonder what valve is trying to tell us. So much mystery i wonder how it became the turret it is. First time i played thru i just dismissed it as another of Aperture's 'eccentricities', but now i think its more important than that.

Most of you already know that the different turret is somewhat predicting the future. A nice easter egg?

For all of you that don't know, the "I'm different" turrets are called oracle turrets.

I like how they’re programmed with morality, that was a fully functioning turret that had you locked on but decided not to kill you as a gesture of thanks for saving its life

The turret you save sort of has some foreshadowing. "Cast into the earth and pecked by birds" - foreshadowing to PotatOS. "Her name was Caroline" - foreshadowing to GLaDOS being Caroline.

"Prometheus was punished by the gods for giving the gift of knowledge to man. He was cast into the bowels of the earth and pecked by birds." Refers to Wheatley's takeover in Chapter 5. Prometheus (GLaDOS) was punished by the gods for giving the gift of knowledge to man (Chell plugging Wheatley into GLaDOS' mainframe). He (She) was cast into the bowels of the earth (turned into PotatOS) and pecked by birds (attacked by crows). "It won't be enough." PotatOS tries to confuse Wheatley with a paradox later in the game, but it fails horribly. "The answer lies beneath us." In Chapter 6, you end up in the old Aperture Science. Not the one from the original Portal, but in the old days. (You can also find a huge potato thing made by Chell on "Bring Your Daughter To Work Day." She used a secret ingredient from "Dad's work") "Her name is Caroline. Remember that. That's all I can say." When Cave died, he wanted to be put interesting a machine to keep in charge of the facility. He was already pretty sick because of the moon rocks being used in the various gels later in the game. However, fearing the former technology wouldn't exist by the time he died, he requested Caroline's brain be put into GLaDOS' (Genetic Lifeform and Disk Operating System) body.

I am 100% convinced this is the same Turret stuck in the tube line when you’re carrying Wheatley in between the walls and I am so happy the player could save it

These things are not supposed to be like atlas and p body, who can think for themselves, but this one and all of the defective ones proved that statement wrong!

I saw that turret during my first time playing the game, at first I thought "Shit, guess I'll die" then when I grabbed it to yeet it into the void it said "Thank You" at that moment I just stopped, grabed a cup of water and CAREFULLY gone down the "stairs" then when I saw that blue thingy, I remembered of how it destroys anything that goes through it, so I put the turret down, made the universal gesture of peace and go through without thinking about it too much, then at my 2nd playthrough I grabbed it and sit comfortably as I listened all of what this "Different" Turret says, and oh my God, that thing was a spoiler machine, talking very vaguely about what would happen after Wheatley assumed control... Everytime when I see it I grab it, put it somewhere safe, peace gesture and go off.

Is what cave Johnson says once you reach the Aperture laboratories of 1980 (final underground stage) 'Prometheus was punished by the gods for giving the knowledge to man, he was cast into the bowels of the earth and pecked by birds' Prometheus is meant to represent both Chell and potatOS, and them giving the gift of knowledge to man (wheatley) sent them into the bowls of the earth into the 3 old Aperture laboratories where PotatOS was pecked by birds 'It won't be enough' This is a reference to Doug Rattmann, a mysterious character who tries to survive in the wreak of Apature and spies on Chell 'Her name is Caroline' Caroline is Glados's real name
