When I was playing the game and he first explained that his plan was to rebuild Glados I thought he would succeed at the end but that we would prevent him from activating her, leaving Glados repaired but pending reactivation, explaining why in Portal 2 it was only necessary to reactivate her.
I know that they're probably highly wary of doing anything that includes Portal characters but the idea of a sequel after Wheatley has been ejected onto the moon is such an exciting idea
For some reason at the end i thought they were gonna make u into a personality core or smthing which honestly would be a bit cooler and more thought provoking than just going into stasis
@@demonswordofficalchannel777The second phase is actually a remix of Dies Irae and a leitmotif I made for The Spire that you only hear a few times before this. However after listening to Making Science (a remix of Making Christmas) it seems it also references Dies Irae in it's melody. It's honestly neat how many things reference Dies Irae, the main theme for The Shining and Dead by Daylight also reference it. Dies Irae is often used to symbolize impending doom in a scene (like when there is a countdown timer for neurotoxin).
Just finished this - one of the only mods I've ever played where the level design & gameplay experience felt like it was made by Valve. But I'm not a huge fan of how the story just... ends? It feels very, very anticlimactic. I hope they make more mods to this effect tho, it's a great first impression!
it definitely felt like it ended on act 2 of a 3 act story, hoping at some point we maybe get and update or sequel mod cause the rest of the game was fantastic
While not perfect, it's still an amazing mod. I loved that there's sometimes multiple ways to continue. You can feel the passion they had for portal. For everyone saying its ending is abrupt, maybe replay portal 1 or 2, they have similar endings. I really love portal and hope we see more mods like this.
As someone who's finished both P1 and P2 multiple times, no, the endings are not similar at all. And it's not really about them being abrupt or not - it's about this ending just feeling like a slap in the face after all the effort. Both P1 and P2 had one of the best end credits I've ever seen - leaving you with a sense of accomplishment and a smile - while this was more like "punishing" you for completing the game. It's definitely one of the best Portal mods around, but the ending really spoils it, leaving a sour aftertaste...
I think it’s a pretty good game, although certainly not perfect. The gameplay itself, especially the few completely new mechanics were all incredible. Shame we didn’t get to use them all that much though.
I'm convinved the VA's were just talking smack about someone in the room without a mic after a certain point, that giggle at 5:43 ish seemed way too genuine. EDIT: Time is 5:30
I had to laugh at that too. She LOVES tormenting the little bastard don't she. :) Valve should look at the voice actors coming back for more fun, the back and forth was just too funny!
Just played this through. For whatever reason in my game, after the Spire exploded when I pressed the last button, I just went straight to the credits. Looked online And saw people talking about getting sent to the moon so I had to come see it here....
I thought the game was really good! But, I wasn’t a big fan of how sterling just kinda turned on us randomly? Like he just kinda became evil so we had a final boss. Also wasn’t a big fan of Emily, she’s pretty much just Wheatley but woman, and not evil.
@@portalgaming8057 it just seemed like he got more violet for no reason, like when we first meet back up with him, he’s all like “you ruined my teleporter >:(“ and just got a whole lot more snippy, even though we were fine before?
@@CK29bubba Well, Stirling didn't exactly care for the protagonist's wellbeing at that time, because he didn't need them now that he's able to fix it back up. He only finally realised that the protagonist is trying to stop his plans, so he plots to kill them to avoid failure. Honestly, I first thought that the female core would be the villain, but I was wrong. Who did you think would be the game's villain and why?
@@portalgaming8057 I’m not exactly sure who I thought the villain would be, I half expected him to be a twist villain, but was kinda disappointed since he just ended up being Wheatley 2. Unrelated note, Stirling and Emily are basically just Wheatley split in 2: Stirling is “dumb” and Emily is British
@@CK29bubba So, which character did you trust more during Chapter 7, where they both had opposite goals? I felt like that the female one felt suspicious to me, but I was worried about Stirling as well.
1) revo isn't gonna have a sequel 2) the devs wanted revo to fit into portal's lore. it wouldn't be possible for glados to be replaced and still be part of the lore.
Gordon freeman And Chell Together: Glados: Oh No Its Gordon Freeman From Black Mesa Wheatley: ... Gordon Freeman? NO NO NO! the Other Core Boss Fights And Cores that helps Players: Gordon Freeman? Why Humans Chose him To be in APERTURE SCIENCE?!
they couldve made alot with the story line they built up they couldve also expanded on half life and the combine since we go to the surface but this is still good
I thought it was a fan-made game is his actual Cannon because if this is I really want to see it now I thought this was a mud or something I'm not saying anything bad I just need some clarification
They really botched the ending. I liked the journey overall, but that ending was not good at all. First of all, when you finish the puzzle, some sort of explosion takes place, we just see gels coming out of portals in the ceiling. Like, what? Dude, this does not make up a desirable reward for your players. Then we get credits for 2 minutes. I already forgot what happened 2 minutes ago, because it didnt have that oomph. Now a short cutscene where at the end, you say we are on the moon? Were we there the whole time? A quick google search and lore masters on Reddit say we are teleported there. That just left me more confused than anything. I am sorry, but this didnt work for me at all. You actually had a decent game in your hands, with a sevicable story. The ending could have been so much better.
while i agree the ending could have been a bit better, the cutscene after really helped me get what happened. and just to explain as you seemed a little confused, after all the pipes were ejected, it seems that some of the teleportation fluid spilled out into the room, causing it to malfunction and have a large section of the facility to be teleported someplace random (which ended up being on the fricking moon)
Agreed. One of the most anticlimatic endings I've ever seen in a game, which really is a shame as the story felt like it was actually coming to a decent conlusion but the devs just said "no, f**k you" with this.
Idk, Stirling is more like a less moronic Wheatley and Conly a more human GlaDOS. That's where I thought it was going, with Conly becoming the new core. Was not expecting to be teleported to the moon and put on stasis lmao.
WAIT WHAT IS THAT BLUE BALL? WHY DOES YELLOW LOOK BAD? WHY IS THE END NOT WITH THE TELEPORTER? HOW ISN'T THE ENDING WITH THE LADY BEING SENT TO THE AMAZING WORLD OF "discarded content"?
@@Frille512 Are you kidding, I played portal 2 without any performance issues, but with this mod I'm quite struggling with performance because it uses more advanced graphics than the base game. GTX 1050ti btw
@@Retalak I think they meant it as in there was "too much" voice acting In which case I direct them to actually play portal. There was just about as much voice acting as in portal 2.
Millennial + redditor = liberal. I’d have preferred people who didn’t sound like cartoon characters. But it was free so I don’t expect a massive budget ofc.
@@RushaMan "I'd have preferred people who didn't sound like cartoon characters" wheatley. Was the first core a bit annoying at first / took somegetting used to for me? Kinda, but I think conly was voiced pretty well.
