Ported 272xp, 24" full comp 3/8 chain, I'm pretty happy with build considering the state this saw was in when I got it.

I like a 272 for sure. Its not as easy to port as say a 266, I learned a lot from this one. Still making tweaks to it..

HI TIN MAN!!😀😀 Iron horse sent me over. Love the videos!! I will definitely be watching more of them. I'm sure you are cutting cotton wood. I can tell just by the bark and color of the wood. Its actually fairly hard when it drys out. But is still a pretty soft wood. Take care my friend!! Logger Al

Thanks man..one of the harder saws I've ported. The short stroke and over bore makes the timing numbers a bit tricky.

I have a 272XP that I use in my Chain Saw mill. It stopped cutting all of a sudden. I have sharpend the chains still not cutting. Runs ok, air filter clean. What do you think I should check.
@bryanmeier272xp8

first thing i would do pull your pull start slow feel for compression if you have compression take your spark plug out check for spark if no spark could be bad spark plug or coil if you have spark take air cleaner off put little chainsaw gas in the carb or even in the park plug hole if it sounds like it wants to run probley fuel filter or carb needs to be cleaned thats may opinion thats what i do if non of that works pull muffler off pull your pull your pull starter slow look in the muffler port hole on the head to see if piston is scored if it is time to rebuild top end

I saw your comment on an afleetcommand video and subbed. I just really like saws like yourself. I’m just curious and would like to ask, if I may, what’s your day job? I don’t know much about Manitoba. I live in rural Nebraska and get mostly ash for our firewood. Currently attempting my first rebuild on a Husqvarna 359 which I believe will be a great firewood saw for a fat, red faced,white haired, gimpy old geezer. Have enjoyed your videos. 👍

There aint much ash left here. Ash borer is killing them all. Great firewood it is/was. In a year or 2 there won't be any left I think.

Brutal! We’re still losing against the pine beetle here. Strange that in this day and age it’s these little bugs that are taking down the giants.

I know the feeling. I really liked these birch trees I had but the yellow bellied sap suckers killed them all😕 my grandpa used to be a crack shot and would take care of em that way but I’m not allowed to shoot here so I don’t know what to do about them🤷‍♂️
