I have a different experience with mine. This is my 2nd Porter Cable Scroll Saw after returning the first one with the same problem, excessive wobbling on low speed. this is a newer model saw. I have the older model (around 5 years old) which has the blade tension adjustment in the back, like you were talking about. It also doesn't have the LED lights the new one has. The light on mine stopped working after a year or so. My saw served me well up until about a year ago when the bellows that produce the blown air dry rotted. I can order a new part but haven't yet (going back to school, not much shop time) I might look into upgrading to this new version. My old porter cable is a great saw and wouldn't hesitate to buy the brand again.
My husband just got me one for our anniversary. Is there any options or accessories to change the blade type to painless? This saw didn’t bring any adapter like my old scroll saw did . Thanks

OK I had the same Ryobi you had and just got the one that you got. I need to know how to level it. When it is at 0* it isn't. I figured out how to make the adjustment so it can be at 0* but it says -4. how can I get the reading to match what the angle is?
To be honest, I've never used the tilt on the ryobi saw. But if 0 (level) is actually at -4 then I would just add 4 from the stated setting to get the actual setting. For example, a 49 degree reading should actually be 45 degrees.
