Do be honest, if you listen to Sigur Rós then you now how it actually sounds to play the guitar with a bow. I don't hear that in this song. So he either did it just in the video for show or it is mixed in so low than you can't really hear it anyway.
•~*Lyrics*~• Who survived? Somebody new? Anyone else but you? On a lonely night was a blinding light A hundred leaders would be born of you And though I know Since you've awakend her again She depends on you she depends on you She'll go alone And never speak of this again We depend on you We depend on you I don't know much about your life beyond these walls The fleeting sense of love within these God-forsaken halls And I can hear it in his voice, in every call "This girl who's slept a hundred years has something after all" And though I know Since you've awakend her again She depends on you She depends on you I'll go alone And never speak of you again We depend on you I depend on you Have a beautiful day ^-^
@Angela Pepe ) Porter Robinson stated that this song was about a human and a robot (in the original song as the vocals were sung by a vocaloid) He also stated that this song was meant to have a fantasy vibe to it, but it was meant to be up for interpretation
This is literally the best cover I ever heard in any song in my whole entire life. Going through a really bad depression right now and this song is one of the few songs that helps me get by ..thank you so much for making such a beautiful cover
Can say the same. I never really understood how music made people feel better but after I heard this song and shelter I legitimately felt happy. This is really good and I hope you do better.
undercoverdudes Btw, Line of sight looks good. Wish I could play. I'll probably be making some videos again once again schools' over. Also, this cover is god like. Porter + Madeon's new album giving me goosebumps.
7 years later and i still love everything abt this cover. I was just randomly scrolling through spotify to listen to some music and for some reason just remembered abt this cover of sad machine and i cant find it in spotify and so im back here and holy shit, i forgot how much emotions this cover brought me, idk if its because of the nostalgia this song has to my younger years (lmao im only 21 now, idk why im so emo abt the past alr) but yeaa thanks for making this cover, it brought me alot of memories from just listening to this again. :”)
I absolutely HATE 99% of covers, covers are mostly slowed down versions of original that will bore you to death, but this one is absolutely amazing. Most of the time instrumentals of cover are weak and sucks, but this is not that case. Brilliant
Prof. Killionare o _o he didn't say "horrible shitty" Plus I think he's just say he doesn't like slowed down covers. That's okay, they're not his preference.
You have embodied the entire emotion of the original track as you took it from Electronic to an absolutely euphoric Acoustic rendition. I have subscribed-to and followed both groups and greatly look forward to future releases. Please please /please/ let us know if this (or anything else from either of you beyond Didrick's wonderful single) comes out! Thank you so much for bringing this cover upon the world. This hits so many strings and reminds me greatly of the feelings in the room when Porter played this track during his tour. You are more than "bands". You are true artisans.
This is so amazing like this is the best cover I’ve heard. It’s plain beautiful and rlly revives the feel of this song. The only improvement I could even hope to levy at this is for it to be longer cause this thing is so fantastic I can’t point out a single problem I have with it. The music is great, it’s not over the top, and it does justice to the original. Simply phenomenal. Wow.
This is amazing. This is exactly what I was looking for and I couldn't be happier. I have been listening to this on repeat for a few hours, and will continue to do so. Thank you.
This is my most favorite cover for Sad Machine, I've listened to the other 30 some covers or so and I always find myself coming back to you Didrick, and I thank you for that.
Kinda sad now seeing both Didrick and Ember Island isn't active like in the past But still, thank you for making this cover. Still love it even though it has passed 7 years for me since I first listened to this.
Absolutely incredible cover of an absolutely incredible song. Props to everyone involved. This is exactly what I needed to hear before drifting off to sleep.
I made an account just to comment on this. This cover is the best one and will always be the best one. You should be extremely proud of yourselves for making one of the most emotional feelsy covers and I love you all for it
I hope you don't mind, I'm using this song to say goodbye to my 15 year old dog today. After a fight with chronic pain and arthritis it's time to do what's best. The lyric "she depends on you, we depend on you" is so fitting and beautiful for her. As she is our whole life and we are hers. This song gives me peace. Sweet dreams. Mollie x
I have been addicted to the original since it came out and this cover made me fall in love with the song all over again. Now I am going to listen to this every day for several months. This is so incredibly amazing! Thanks for this!
Damn, no words, literally.. You guys left me speechless.. This felt as powerful and magical as the original.. And you guys literally tried to make it as perfect and flawless as it could've been made.. Combining the vocals, instruments, Music Video, everything is just perfect..
this gave me shivers holy shiiiiiiit. i'm normally not a huge fan on listening to covers unless i really love the song, and AGGGHHHH GOD THIS IS SO PRETTY AND SAD. THANK YOU
