So, in partical arts... I hear what sounds like Tiger Track from Eureka Seven's OST. [I am NOT claiming you stole it, what I'm saying is that it reminds me of it, which reminds me of how cool Eureka Sevens techno OST is.] And I want to reccomend you check out E7s OSTs if you haven't heard of it, because it sounds right up your ally! Love listening to this while I'm building gunpla. Thanks for the chill vibes!
As much as I'm upset its not like Worlds, I am far happier knowing Porter is willing to change the whole formula just to make something he wants to, and God did it pay off. This Is top quality
WOW takes me back to the old grade school days when i discovered edm for the first time. Eurodance, trance like, video game tracks. I thought i was a fucking weirdo but here we are... still a fucking weirdo but man am i proud. I honestly cried the nostalgia was insane.
Feels like it’s 1999 and I’m in my bedroom listening to a bonkers CD by Hixxy. Great vibes. Love that ghost voices though. That is some other kind of awesomeness.
Nice.. I’m so glad he’s sticking with the ever-integral time and temp of 13-16 minutes at 375 degrees. When artists maintain this structure they’re always left with a buffalo chicken dip that the whole neighborhood can enjoy! Keep it up, Porter!
To this day, this remains my inspiration. Nothing I have ever heard has ever came close to touching Virtual Self. My Fucking God. Perfect in every way.
watched Porter twice this week at holy ship... Is second set was a surprise set were he played the whole virtual-self set. was in heaven for 2 hours!!!!!!!!
That’s actually my least favorite. As a lover of trance and hardcore, Ghost Particles’s deep house influence isn’t something I connect as strongly with.
honestly when this was first released I wasn't too crazy about his new project, but I went back to it a few days ago and holy shit. it took me long enough to realize how amazing this EP is.
it is called "Eurobeat". Iconic examples: "Night of Fire" (Dream cover) - Max Coveri (Maurizio DeJorio); and "Running in the 90's" - also by Max Coveri
no way you can't deny that the majority of virtual self fans are porter fans though. Most discovered it from porters fb, insta, or RU-vid. If it was not affiliated at all then it wouldn't have the traction that it has now
I'm just casually listening to this while typing my last min paper... Then all of a sudden the beat drops and i'm hitting almost the same notes as I type~ ~ ~ ngl this beat slaps hard :)
This music needs to be on many Rhythm games like: Beatmania, DDR, osu, Cytus, Groove Coaster. It's so epic and nostalgic as well! It brings me back to the old ages of playing rhythm games when I was 12. I'm 18 now and I still enjoy playing them! Most of my 18 yr old friends have taste in bad music like rap, pop and meme music.
This is old news at this point, but Particle Arts did make it into Beatmania IIDX! They don't often include songs by Western artists, so it's a major compliment to Porter :D
I freaking love Eon break but the "outro" should not be played. I know the ending is sudden, but that kinda gives it a nice unwind effect. The speedcore cuts and a moment of silent is really good there (Like Gareth Emery did in his New York set). But big old Kudos to who mixed this set with Eon Break outro having a mash, that actually sounds good.
The first track sounds like something you'd find on Newgrounds' audio portal like, 8 years ago... Still good as fuck, but it has that sort of sound to it.
I’ve never been a fanboy of Porter, so I can judge this album without bias. It’s great. The compositions seem to be very Japanese and the arrangement is pretty much all UK hardcore. If you aren’t familiar with UK hardcore then check it out, cause stuff of this quality is dying out even in that genre. Artists like Darren Styles, Hixxy... from 2000-2010. What’s interesting is that Porter utilized the hardcore sound but elected to drop the standard hardcore bpm to about half that which it usually is. If you like this sound, support the hardcore scene so more of this kind of music can spread across the globe.
Man I only found Virtual Self yesterday, but for me this was a trip back to when I spent my time watching Clannad and Onegai Sensei, Hardcore Techno Randomness AMVs by animedreamer, and trying to find the Bonkers UK hardcore albums on LimeWire. It's insane.
Pretty much agreed. I'm hoping for a S3RL remix of any of these songs actually. Also, considering Noisia's last collab with Former, I was thinking it would be awesome to see them work with Porter :-)
@@OfficialAbass 5 months late here: its not technically all wrong, while most of it might be wrong he did say it is great, and at the end of the day does it really matter what genre it is as long as it is good?
