Thanks so much for the shout out! I'm so sorry to hear about your canceled orders, and thankfully you got refunded! PLG is fun and good prices, but they don't have the finishing touches that others do-that's probably why their prices are low.

I agree with Fushiafloyd, the Portland leather bags and I have a couple slgs are nice but not as refined, but they are good quality. I have a couple Madewell bags and have enjoyed those as well. I have a bucket bag from the piazza line and really enjoy that leather, very soft. Sometimes Madewell’s site can be weird and I have to use a specific browser just to make my order go through. I’ve also called them and ordered items on the phone with a person which was nice because he could confirm if the item was still in stock (this was during a big sale they had). Autumn Beckman also has a lot of Portland leather videos on her channel as well

I have had Madewell cancel an order I placed within the US. I think they have a lot of trouble with their website. The bag I purchased was out of stock but the website didn't know that, apparently. If you ever happen to be in the U.S., it's worth going into one of their stores and seeing their bags (and other items) in person. As others have said, these kinds of bags are a bit rustic and not so refined. I am wearing jeans from Madewell right now and I've had good experiences with their T shirts. I hope your Etsy purchase makes it to you safely and soon!

wow i’m sorry to hear madewell did that to you. i have a couple plg bags & slgs & i 💚 them. i have the medium crossbody tote & lola in honey & cognac. they smell divine & are very sturdy. the only thing i dislike is the shedding of the interior bc it’s raw on the other side. the shedded leather gets everywhere & drives me nuts. it’s why i took a break from using them. can’t wait to see what you got! 💚💚

I have 2 Madewell piazza bags that I got at deep discount from the website. I live in LA. No problem at all with shipping and receiving items in perfect condition. For the price, they are great- the leather is smooshy and lovely to touch. They look much more expensive than they were. They are a great alternative to using my designer bags for everyday. I do not own Portland leather- I feel they are not very refined and look heavy and resemble "craft fair " bags- just not my cup of tea. I would rather spend my money elsewhere. I am sorry you have had bad luck ordering these US brands.
