Portland is the team to follow moving forward if you are a fan of young players with high end talent. Excited to see their young core of Sharpe, Deni, Scoot and Clingan.
Like last year im still expecting to be bottom of the west but im still so excited to see Sharpe, Scoot, Clingan, Avdija, Reath and the rest get all the minutes they want to improve
To get the full potential from all of the starters, “ball movement” as stated in this narrative should also include player movement in a fast-paced full court offense ala Adelman-Drexler. Wouldn’t that be fun to watch? The 90’s Kevin Johnson and Charles Barkley-led Suns come to mind as well.
I like your way if thinking. I emphatically agree 💯%! The days of watching a single player doing all the heavy lifting game in & game out are not winning basketball. Like U said, ball movement & player movement is a beautiful thing. U brought up the ol' school & that's my thing. 👌🏾 Even looking at MJ23 & how teams would load up on him earlier in his career until Phil Jackson & Tex Winters came & implemented the Triangle Offense. 🥀 Go #TrailBlazers🩶🖤❤️
The Blazers are in the perfect position to hold what they have. Ayton's value will increase once the season starts because he does not want to be humiliated and outplayed by Clingan. While Clingan has years on the rookie contract to see how he pans out. Grant also does not want to be benched for Advija and will be incentivized to go all out, which will increase his trade value as well. The only mystery for Portland is "Can Skoote play?!?" There was nothing in his pre draft tape that caused concern. But his whole persona has shrank under NBA pressure.
The trailblazers are exciting once again, but it’s got room for a few more adjustments. Ant should be traded to the Bucks to join Lillard and Grant (who is one of my fav) should go to Lakers with a Hachimura trade. That would bring a lot of excitement to the city and will make it to at least the playoffs if not the finals.the Blazers should build around Shaedon Sharp asap, he’s got what it needs to uphold a team.
@@oregonoriginal2044U & I both.. Banton certainly showed me a few things last year. I like him as a backup PG. His handles is good enough for that backup roll. He attacks the paint & can pull up off the dribble.. I agree with U fasho' ‼️
@@rosecityusa6120 Agreed, he's on a minimum, we have 3 other ball handlers if you include Deni, Ant (not expected on the team), and Scoot (turnover machine so far). Banton is cheap, he's long, can defend 3 positions, is streaky at the 3, but is a willing passer. It's not a bad temp pickup for a team like the Blazers in this position.
Ant has 2 years left on his contract, I promise he's gone after those two years. It's either sell him now, or watch him walk for free. Bunch of question marks with Scoot, agreed, but they can't be played next to each other for defensive liability. We have scoot under contract/bird rights for essentially 8 years, and he can be played next to Sharpe. I agree Ant is the better offensive talent right now, but isn't a defender at all right now, and we have no control of his contract after 1 year after this one coming. Time to move off of him, open up some contract space and guard minutes. Sucks cuz I love Ant. he just doesn't fit with the now.
Saying Ayton "doesn't have the versatility to play any position outside of center" (4:15) is perplexing. He played PF throughout college and his sophomore year with the Suns. His midrange game is among the best in the NBA, so capitalizing on that would free up the paint for, say, a gigantic defensive-oriented dunking center . In limited minutes at least. I don't get it. Why am I not hearing more love for this guy?
@@crowquill I don't know why people love to hate on Ayton so much even blazers fans jumped on the bandwagon as soon as an article got posted everyone turned on him. but regarding Ayton playing the 4, its really not a good idea, yes he has a very deep midrange but he's not a 3 point shooter, just because he played the 4 in college doesn't mean it fits in the modern NBA especially not on the blazers who is already HIGHLY deficient in terms of shooting and floor spacing.
