Cate is chameleon. I mean this as a compliment. She can transform into any role and be unrecognisable. One of the few great actors who is the role, not the star playing the role and can play mostly anything.

in vain she had plastic surgery, the charm was gone ... in the film, the talented Mr. Ripley, she looked great and her eyes were open, but right now it's just a name

Yeah the thing called make up in mr ripley , and she has extremely hooded eyes which get even more hooded with the years, look up people in their 80s to see the end result not to be surprised
