I learn from this artwork (and many other great artworks too) that an artist’s job is to create the illussion of detail, instead of drawing the details themselves. If you zoom in, those strokes are not as detailed as they seem, even kind of messy as well, but the real effect is when you see the whole picture in context. You get the sense of details, because your mind fills in the gap. This is also why we are able to imagine how cartoon characters may look like in real life, because we fill in the gap of what is missing. I was always so burdened by drawing details, thinking that I should fill every single pixel “correctly”, and got discouraged by how long and tiresome it would take to finish. It turns out that the way I did it was just exactly that; tiresome. It doesn’t need to be like that, unless the idea of the art is to perfectly re-paint reality. Some artists do that, but it’s not for me. I’d rather use this technique of using the illussion of details instead. Thank you, Sam! Your video is great. ❤
Yes, it’s great. He just keeps drawing the same girl with the same black hair and the same skinny face. It’s like other sizes aren’t existent anymore. We have to understand that everyone should have the right to be included and in this case only the “Skinny people” are. He makes great art it’s just disappointing.
@@Evan_Afton_bite83 Im aware, art is about beauty, meaning, or it has no beauty factor for the artist at all. But it should be overly inclusive to the group viewing. It’s impressive, and he probably doesn’t want to change the content he is creating. I’m not genuinely forcing him to change. Im saying this is offensive to some people/groups.
Marvelous! Love the SSS (sub surface scattering) next to the terminator on the face and on the ears. Great hair which isn't over rendered. WLOP inspired jewelry looks great.
Seriously.. everytime im abt to give up abt my dreams..i went here watching most of sam's videos.. knowing that sam could do it..gave me so much inspiration..thank you so much sam..keep up the good work!!
Your workflow is great for beginner Artist starting their digital art journey. It's very straight forward, and I was able to get great results sticking to this process.
God, I keep looking at your artwork and thinking "this guy is so good there's not even anything to improve upon" and then every peice you make is better than the last 😭
I will see these pop up in my feed and every time they give me such a feeling of love. For your work and for life at the same time. The further the video goes the more of the attention I see you put into areas that make sense and I just love to see you making these parts special and unique. And then it inspires me to do the same. So valuable. Yet it will go without being said 99% of the time. So here: I said it.
Putting the redder color at the edge of the shadow was a *click* moment for me. I've known about the for so long, but had no idea how to do it right. Thanks so much for that.
