Dear Mrs.Ahmed , birth in Portuguese territory, by itself, is not enough to acquire Portuguese nationality. In order to acquire nationality in these terms, it is necessary that some other requirements be verified, which can be from having Portuguese ancestors, to having parents who, even though they are not Portuguese, have been legally resident in Portugal for at least one year at the time of birth. The law provides for several possibilities in this sense, so a case-by-case analysis is essential to determine the possibilities of acquiring nationality. Best Regards

Easy - you go to whatever area it is you want to live in, go to the town hall, and apply for permanent residence. this is issued for 5 years most times, and then when that is up you apply for the passport. I have lived here for 6 years and married to a Portuguese national and only have the residence. see no need to change passports
