This concert was part of the soundtrack to my time studying at university. I’m still listening to it nearly a decade later. An absolute masterclass and a joy to watch.
For sure... crazy part for me was this was their peak as a band "Evil Friends" and the previous albums (I saw them right after while they were touring "feel it still" So they still played a lot of the older songs and it was a great show!!.... But as a mainstream band they blew up on the next album "Feel it still" was huge for them And they haven't came out with too many songs that I love since then.😬 ..... I know that sounds douchey but I'm just being real 😜
It’s cool how they affect people at different eras of time and their life. For me, I got into them in 2006/7 so was really into their first two albums. Still enjoy this and their newer stuff a bit but their old stuff is my favorite. Listening to Waiter: You Vultures album takes me back to high school
In the mountain in the clouds was the greatest album. Drove out to red rocks from PA in 2016 to see them. Since feel it still released, I've been to 3 shows all of which played feel it still twice. Who the fuck does that? Losers lol
Yeah i agree! Take me for example, There are many favorites of mine, Porcupine Tree, O'Brother, Amason, Wolf Alice to name a few. In my opinion you can only name a band one of your favorites when you love the majority of their songs

Just commenting that 8 years had passed and I still come back to listen to this absolutely banger of a performance of my favorite band to this day. It's just amazing how time passes. I remember like it was yesterday when I watched this performance that was only 2 weeks old, after listening to this album 20 times non stop after buying it from a CD store lmao.

5 years later and I still come back to it, so perfectly agreed. I'm not that big of a fan of life performances normally, but these KEXP shows were some serious magic. Amazing quality and many bands really brought their best.
I've come home drunk several times to watch this. I also watch it a lot when I'm sober. I just love them okay?! Can't wait to see them with Cage the Elephant in SF in June!!!!!
PTM is awesome....I prefer watching concerts like this without all the distractions of the crowd and the lights....makes listening and watching much more enjoyable and just sounds so much better. Love their music!
I agree! I've seen a few live shows, the lights and how heavy they go live, John's vocals suffer as a result. When they're more casual it's when they play better imo.
This performance is like opening a brand new box of cereal to eat with the brand new jug of milk you just picked up from the market, slipping on a brand new pair of sneakers, drinking a beer fresh from the tap, driving a brand new car off the lot, riding your motorcycle on a nice Summer day in San Diego, opening Christmas or Hanukkah presents, or losing your virginity. It's just like that time you realized that this band, Portugal. The Man, puts on a fucking show.
oh man, I can't help watching this daily. I only discovered them like 5 months ago and boy can I not get enough. Their stage performance could be polished up, and they could move around.. but they're having fun and sound amazing. I love John's high-pitch singing, and how he throws his voice.. they're so good!
If RU-vid videos could wear out like music cassette tapes used to back in the day, this video would be one of them for me. Can't wait for them to roll back through Seattle.
As of this day in time DEC 14th 2015 this is the best performance in the world. KEXP show made your place in history as one of the best bands to come along in many years. John G you are a truly Efing Awesome and so are the rest of the band please play this same set many times in the future but if you dont i will listen here because this is your best performance of all so far even better than Bonaroo I am so grateful for discovering your music

Ok I saw them live (finally) a couple of weeks ago and they blew my mind. This performance does them no justice. It was one of the happiest moments of my life that concert, so sick. If you have the chance to see Ptm live don't miss it
Where the hell did this amazing band come from? Where did they come up with the name of the band, PORTUGAL.THE MAN? I'm Portuguese and this makes me proud to be Portuguese! Great music. This band is too classy for today's music seen. They are ahead of their time!

This band is so underrated. The Pushers Party and People Say are probably my fav songs by them. The music is sooo sooo soooo good, they're amazing live, their acoustics are perfect...oh and the singer is precious (he reminds me of Nicholas Petricca). What more could you want in a band?
AND ALSO... i really like the guy whose playing the accoustic guitar.. he knows he's performing infront of a lot of people, altho he still is vibing out in his head.
Great band, great performance and amazing playlist, love them so much! I guess people don't think about the different circumstances that there are between recording a cd and playing it in a concert, couldn't be more proud of being a fan of this band!
It's because they didn't know whether or not they could swear, it hilarious because you can see John stop at "jeans" and step back and look around like "wait am I allowed?"
They are amazing. The videos don't do them justice at all. Even though the videos are still good. If they ever come near you, you should go see them. When I saw them the lead singer's wife was playing and singing with them instead of that dude on the guitar which was really cool. They also went into this tangent where they just jammed for a while, and they jammed hard. So they are better live because they just jam out sometimes and transition into random songs, its like they take you on a musical journey.

+Wyatt Scully I enjoy the harder minimalist, almost garage-like sound before they got all pop sounding. Same as the Black Keys. Just my opinion man. You're free to feel differently. ♡
+Benjamin Billman Check it out, you won't regret it. I agree 100% about Modest Mouse. The Moon & Antarctica is such a great album but you can hear their sound being more "produced" than raw from that point on.
