Cibaeños or Northern, Northwestern Dominicans are known to add a “I or Y” sound when they speak. This is because the Portuguese who arrived on the island could not pronounce the Castellano dialect of Spanish.
@carlosm.3426

No lol Portuguese sound nothing like that, Eastern Cuba (afro-cubans) also does the same, as well as Afro Colombians (certain communities), the Bozol Spanish of Afro Mexicans also did the same thing, in other words, it was a BLACK thing that enslaved blacks that were captured by the Portuguese would do, probably to mimic their way of speaking

Darkskin doesn't equal black ,dravidians and melanesians are darskin. Black means pale and waning , voidless of color. The word 'Black' can be traced back to its proto Indo-European origins through the word 'blac' which meant pale, wan, colourless, or albino. 'Blac' was incorporated into Old French as Blanc, Italian and Spanish as Blanco, Bianca, Bianco, Bianchi. All humans have a darkskin or brownskin human ancestor of origin Thanks for the info though appreciate it!

The so-called "black" dude on the horse at around 16:35-ish is a Knight Templar. The Cross is called "The Cross of Suffering." In other videos, he's described as a "nobleman." He's of the Order of the Holy Knights of Jesus Christ. Thought you should know.

@@HispaniolaHistoryChannel That's interesting. But, it seems the cross on the cape isn't the Cross of Saint James. Ugal essentially means vomit, so Portugal means Port Throw Up.... Leviticus 18:25 [25]And the land is defiled: therefore I do visit the iniquity thereof upon it, and the land itself vomiteth out her inhabitants. Jeremiah 48:26 [26]Make ye him drunken: for he magnified himself against the LORD: Moab also shall wallow in his vomit, and he also shall be in derision. Isaiah 28:1,3,8,10-11 [1]Woe to the crown of pride, to the drunkards of Ephraim, whose glorious beauty is a fading flower, which are on the head of the fat valleys of them that are overcome with wine! [3]The crown of pride, the drunkards of Ephraim, shall be trodden under feet: [8]For all tables are full of vomit and filthiness, so that there is no place clean. [10]For precept must be upon precept, precept upon precept; line upon line, line upon line; here a little, and there a little: [11]For with stammering lips and another tongue will he speak to this people.

Puerto Rican's, Cubans and Dominicans likely have a some Amazigh, Arab and Jewish ancestry. The descendants of King David and the Prophet Mohammed went to live in Spain. The Royals of Spain are related to both. From King David when the King of Aragon married Paloma Ben Yahia of the Ibn Yahya family. From the Prophet Mohammed from King Alfonso VI of Castile’s wife Zaida. This is your FAMILY, don't let other's steal this from you, and don't be fooled to be ashamed of your Spanish and Portuguese Blood. Portuguese hardly immigrated to the Caribbean islands, there are numerous census done in your country as well as the ships that registered the immigrants that were coming from Europe, not sure why you havent bothered looking at those as a reliable source lol that Portuguese blood you are scoring is simply GALICIAN ancestry which Galician immigrants were very numerous in the Caribbean as well as in Argentina and Uruguay, Galicians on those genetic companies tend to score higher Portuguese than Spanish. So no, its not necessarily Portuguese but in fact Galician roots. The only countries that had real Portuguese immigrants were Mexico, Brazil and Peru. There are records, census and even genetic companies that have talked about it (23andme, AncestryDNA, FTDNA etc).

Today’s Dominican Republic at some point in its history had 10% of its population of Portuguese descents. Even the first registered immigrant to Manhattan New York was a guy called João Rodrigues (his father was Portuguese, mother African slave) born in Santo Domingo. He own the record of being the first immigrant of European descent, the first immigrant of African descent, the first mixed race, the first latino, the first Dominican.

@@nydomirican6193 can you show me a census and the immigrant registrations of your nation? It shouldn't be hard since we can find the ones from Africa that entered your island. @@Mr.BeefwithChixken there isn't any difference, this is why Genetic companies tend to group them together, just look at 23andme, and before AncestryDNA did an update, they also had both nations as Iberians. If you look up dna results of Spaniards from Galicia, Asturias and those Northeastern areas, you'll see them score a lot of Portuguese ancestry, many times higher than the Spanish one. The ones in Southern Spain score very high Spanish and some Portuguese and Italian. Basques are normally the ones who score 100% Spanish or Iberian. I can give you a site where you can see Spanish results from various areas of Spain, and then I can send you the type of immigrants of Spain that mostly settled in the Caribbean, when you see those dna results and those settlers, you'll see why some Caribbeans score high Portuguese, it has nothing to do with actual Portuguese ancestry at all. I guess some people wanna make themselves seem unique and exotic for Hispanic standards.

Mate first of all "LANGUAGE" and secondly we Portuguese didn't ask for nothing we fought for our independence for almost 30.years!! After the so called Iberian union that lasted for more than 60 years. This spanish take over was due to the fact that after the young (and foolish) Portuguese King died in the battle of alcahser Quibir against a bigger army of moors and ottomans allowing King Felipe of Spain to claim the Portuguese crown. To wrap up the Portuguese are descent of the lusitanians one the biggest celtic tribes in the iberian peninsula and Portugal has a country exist first than Spain.
