Hino de El-Rei Dom Luís I (Hymn of King Dom Luís I) is a Portuguese royalist song dedicated to the accession of King Luís I of Portugal to the throne in 1861, following the early death of his elder brother King Pedro V from Typhoid fever.

THIS. IS. AMAZING!! Even a Portuguese monarchist like me was unaware of this piece. What a wonderful find! Thank you very much! Muito obrigado! Tusen takk! A note - the Palace that appears incomplete, the Royal Ajuda Palace, has been recently interventioned, and is expected to open next month. 200 years after the French invasions stalled the construction, it will finally be complete (although being only half of the original projected size). Viva El-Rei Dom Luís I! Viva El-Rei de Portugal!!

Constituição de cariz comunista quando saída do forno em 1976, não se livrou da tara esquerdista na revisão feita em 1982. Um povo não pode e não deve ser refém de texto constitucional. Constituições são feitas para servir ao povo e não o contrário.

I much prefer the old Kingdom of Portugal flag to that of the modern one! I love the blue cross on the white field flag of 1095 as well. Hail the Kingdom of Portugal, from the land of her oldest ally. :)

Indeed. Sadly, it was ironically Britain which was a major contributor to the fall of the Portuguese monarchy, when they forced King Carlos, Luís I’s son, to abandon to Pink Map territorial claims in Africa
