How to ship Poshmark packages in Canada has been a hot topic in the comment section and in my DMs, so I wanted to share the basics of all things shipping on Poshmark Canada. In this video I'll share more about shipping on Poshmark, Poshmark shipping discounts, what packaging to use, how to get your shipping label from Poshmark Canada, and what to do with your package when it's ready to go! I'll also be sharing my thoughts on the 2021 shipping price increase to $13.49.

Hi Ashley, I have not had many issues at the post office with the weight. This is because near the beginning of my Poshmark journey a lovely post office clerk told me that the label comes from a commercial account and any overages would be covered. I have used that line a couple of times when faced with a new post office or clerk. It works wonders. Also I am not losing sleep over the shipping increase, it is what it is and yes I will be taking it into account when pricing. Thank you for a great video!

Great video! I stopped complaining about the shipping (as a buyer) when I had to send a small box to a friend 2 cities away and it came to $25. As a seller, I find most are OK with it, and I rarely offer shipping discounts. I think Poshmark needs to change the $9.99 shipping on Closet Clearout to $10.50 or else cover the extra .50 cents. I wanted to add that people who are in a rural area can probably arrange for Canada Post to come and pick up parcels for free!

This was really helpful - tysm! I've been wanting to open my own poshmark for years now, but never got around to it. I really want to try it this year. The reason I am choosing poshmark is because they make the shipping so easy, compared to the other companies I could choose (ebay etc) I am concerned that people won't buy my items if I don't offer a shipping discount - especially if it's common for people to offer a shipping discount. This is my first time learning that shipping discounts are an option & now I'm like 🤯🤦‍♀️🤦‍♀️🤦‍♀️🤦‍♀️ because I thought you could only offer the flat rate fee & there'd be no space for bartering (I want to avoid that at all costs!) I am relieved to hear that you can put parcels directly in the mailbox. That's also a major reason for my favouring Poshmark over other sites. I need things to be as accessible & simple as possible. Thanks for sharing this update about shipping - I'm glad I found out about the changes before starting my poshmark trial 😊

The increase was definitely disappointing...but, it’s not enough of a bump up to deter someone. I do think it’s weird that sending something all the way to Whitehorse cost the same amount as within my own city (Ottawa). 🤷🏼‍♀️

Yah, I think folks won’t care much about it in a few weeks. The flat rate does feel strange sometimes, but at least someone in your city should probably receive it quicker!

They probably only pay 4-5-6 dollars and Poshmark keeps the rest. Shipping is a lot shipper than you think. Huge corporations get very low rates. It works for the Areas outside of major cities. A) those buyers dont have a lot of options where they are and shipping is usually more than 13$ so Poshmark is really good for them. Poshmark probably did a cost analysis and decided they would make more money charging the flat rate. If you sold something within the same city you live in or surrounding area the shipping would be less, this would help drive local sales as well as some buyers would be more likely to buy from the seller with the lower shipping. Might create a lot more sales.

Two times I had issues shipping something in the 0.76 - 2.5 kg range, the post office employees did not think that the postage was enough, but it was easy enough to explain that Poshmark would cover the overage charges.

Great vid. super helpful - bummer about the very high cost of compostable mailers. I just opened my shop yesterday (!) but do have a different kind of shop so get the whole shipping thing in Canada. Honestly these rates are great! no haters please, but compared to shipping a small tracked item for my other shop from 21-32Cdn,

I think Poshmark’s shipping flat rate is amazing! Everyone’s complaining…uhh has anyone looked at how much it costs to ship when you sell on Ebay?? Give me Poshmark’s shipping anyday.

I just discovered that if a buyer sends you an offer and you have a shipping discount applied to the item, if you accept their offer you are also giving them discounted shipping! Lesson learned, taking off the shipping discount on my items now. I have literally only had 1 purchase that took advantage of the regular price including the shipping discount. Not worth it for lower cost items. Lesson learned.

So if I understand correctly, once someone purchases an item, you get an automatic shipping label to your email that you just print & then place on your package and then get to drop it off at the post office? Is it really that easy and simple? 😲

Hello, I am a newbie lol and came across your video. I am just wondering about the shipping of boxes. So you are allowed to use recycled material? Do they just have to be plain brown boxes or can I use the ones from grocery stores and amazon?? And the weight of the box and product has to be under the 5lbs to get the standard shipping correct?? Also is there a required size box for the under 5lbs as well. Like 12x12x12?? Thanks a bunch

Hi Melanie, thanks for watching! In Canada, any Recycled boxes from other shipments are totally ok. I try to remove or cover any previous shipping label or details. Standard Poshmark labels cover shipments up to 2.5kg (roughly 5 lbs). And there’s no required size

Does Canada ship to the United States? And if not do you think it might soon? I agree at how simple and easy Poshmark makes it for us in terms of shipping I always get that side of relief when I find out something sold on that platform versus something a little more complicated Like eBay or grand or even deeper. At this time, you can only sell to folks in your country. So Poshers in Canada can only sell to Canadians, US to US, Australia to Australia etc. They've been talking about cross border shipping for a couple years now, but haven't made mention of it recently. On Poshmark you don’t get a choice of which service you use to ship your packages. In Canada, it’s only Canada Post. On other platforms, you may have more flexibility to use a different mail carrier!

As of now you can only purchase from Poshmark US if you’re in the US, and Canadians can only sell to Canadians. May be worth checking to see if the seller has eBay or another platform they sell on where the purse may be cross posted?

Hi Lexi! Are you in Canada or in the US? If you’re in Canada, you’ll need to provide your own box or packaging (you can start with recycled boxes you may have at home from other packages) and then print off the label and stick it on the package (tape works well for this!) If you’re in the US, you’ll be able to get boxes to use from your USPS, and then print off the label and stick it on. Hope this helps!

The buyer has 3 days to accept the item. Once they accept or 3 days passes after it lands in their mailbox, the balance will be available in your Poshmark account!

I sell on Posh and local fb sites but still haven’t gotten to listing on eBay. I know I should ....just that it is so complicated compared to posh. How r u finding eBay these days?
