Jeef’s videos have saved my marriage. My wife saw my 5K mmr and was ready to leave me. After watching Jeef’s videos my mmr has increased almost 2 fold. My wife noticed my increased performance and began showing me affection again, started making me dinner, and I’m no longer sleeping on the couch! Thank you Jeef 🙏.

These videos have all been so helpful. I basically lived at the 6k floor and after watching just the levelling and direction ones I jumped to 7.5k in a couple of evenings play. Cheers for making them!

This kind of statement is usually hyperbolic, or something that an MLM rep would say to try and get someone to buy into their nonsense. Except I swear to god this quite literally just happened to me over a couple hours of play immediately after watching. Actual BG virtuoso.

I consciously do one thing that might be obvious to most but might not be to others. If there are two minions with similar stats, I'll put the more expensive one later so that if I win, I deal more damage. Mostly relevant in the mid game.

The only thing I would like to add around the 5:32 mark is that if you have Rylak Brann should not be your bumper because if Brann dies Rylak does not benefit from Brann, all in all great video!
@voidgods
@voidgods 4 месяца назад
I think that falls in the "combo" build he mentioned to be exceptions :)
@DropDeadJordan
@DropDeadJordan 4 месяца назад
@@voidgods well it’s not really that known to newer players or returning players from before yeah sure it makes sense but even high ranked players forget I’ve seen DogDog and RDU taunt Brann while they had Rylak and realize what they did after the fact. Rylak is branns 1 exception it’s much different than other combo pieces. But that’s just my opinion while you see it as common sense probably due to baron/titus aura and him mostly always being at the back, the Brann Rylak pair to me is still new enough to at least mention where the 1 single exception applies.
@DropDeadJordan
@DropDeadJordan 4 месяца назад
@@voidgods also I should mention I’m higher ranked than most of my friends and we get in discord calls and I help them out and I always say watch streamers and I reccomend dog rdu and jeef and when I say higher ranked I’ve peaked around 9.5k but I’ve been having more fun and just playing for fun builds and stay around 8.5-9k now and most the people I’m helping are around 6-7k now, I get how my original comment to jeef may have sounded like a back handed compliment like a haha I said this and I think I’m smarter but no, I’m gonna send this video to my friends because everything else he explains so much better than I do he goes into more detail of the why.

Interesting about the bumpers. Would you still lead Brann if you have Rylak on your board? I tend to keep him last in that case.

Every hero, every mob set, every enemy… they’re all subjective. You should make guides for every hero and how they pertain to different mob sets, different strategies, etc

Something else on early game positioning that I think should be mentioned for new players: considering the health of your units, if they have the same attack, you (generally) want the one with the least amount of health first. This goes in line with value trading, a 2/3 can kill a 5/2 taunt the same as a 2/5, so the 3 health should go in first as the 5 health has a higher chance of surviving 2 hits and value trading later :)

Am I wrong or is the last position really awkward if the opponent attacks first, bcs you lose bookie and the divine shield, and she attacks into venoumus right after and dies?

Wow I really would have put the Straight Shot first, hoping to Valuetrade the Poisened Taunt and then killing or even Value Trading a Cleave or kill a Murghul.

I'm surprised you didn't mention Audacious Anchor. I know you're trying to make these videos largely independent of any specific meta, but as it's arguably the card most reliant on positioning, I feel like it deserved at least a short mention.
@JeefHS
@JeefHS 4 месяца назад
theres no real skill in playing around anchor, you're just guessing
@rivetace
@rivetace 4 месяца назад
@@JeefHS There's some mind games to it. If you're playing a titus comp and you're against a pirate comp, you can predict the snipe and shuffle your titus to a weird spot. You're way better than I'll ever be, but I have to disagree about it being random guessing. Regardless, it's a very good video guide. I should've mentioned that in my first comment.
@voidgods
@voidgods 4 месяца назад
@@rivetacemind games and guessing are the same thing though, since you can't predict the outcome 😅 as in, compared to positioning that has only 2 mechanics to consider that almost never change: taunts are attacked first and a 50/50 chance of attacking first, and you can predict what happens. Playing around Anchor is at best 1 out of 6 possibilities (both players considered, shuffling around the last 3 slots in each side's board) and at worst 1 out of 14. A pro player will never play around such low odds, for the sake of consistency they will always play the board that has the highest chance of winning, not the one that has the highest chance of not-losing. In other words, there's a point you simply stop trying to play around Anchor because your Titus is already in 1 out of the 2 best positions it can be at, so you just let the enemy mindgame themselves and assume you will move your Titus when you didn't 😂
@rivetace
@rivetace 4 месяца назад
@voidgods Okay, if all you care about is the best odds for winning, you can still use anchor to your advantage. You can snipe a bumper, getting more value out of your divine shield taunt. You can snipe a cleave buffer. Basically, you can punish optimal positioning, and if they play around it, you still get an advantage because now their positioning isn't optimal. It's a win-win in non-guessing-game situations like that if you use it smartly. I'm not saying the card is nuts, or even good tbh. But its impact is significantly determined by its positioning, and it has multiple use cases, so that's why I was surprised it wasn't mentioned in a video about positioning.
@voidgods
@voidgods 4 месяца назад
@@rivetace I think it's definitely a card with a lot of potential. While I'm no pro, I do think pros under utilize the card in menagerie builds. But there's a reason they don't use it and it's definitely not a card to build or prepare around I'd say, that's why I think he didn't mention it, other than the fact that it is very reliant on this card existing in the pool, which is not only guarantee in every game but also in future patches. Not only that, it is also the only minion of its type (start of combat - interact with enemy board), all other start of combat minions, which are not many, only interact with your hand/board. Maybe if they add more cards like Anchor then it is definitely no longer a meta-specific situation but an actual consideration to make.

sorry, I must be unbelievably fucking stupid. at 4:00, HOW does the sewer rat free up space when it dies if it spawns a turtle? The positioning shown is correct, because the naga dies first, then when the manasaber dies, you have 2 spots to summon cubs.

It spawns a turtle with taunt so it always dies before manasaber attacks?
