🌈😃 What is your favourite trick to get your child to cooperate and do what you need them to do? Is it turning the activity into a game? Asking them to help? Giving them a choice? Something else? Let me know in the comments below 😘

This was a very interesting video to listen to. A core part of my discipline approach is always communicating the value behind the behavior I'm asking for or the behavior that needs to be stopped--the deeper reason why, and I use simple, consistent statements so that they are able to learn and understand. You cannot push your brother/take his toy/etc. because your brother is precious. God made him. God made all people and He loves all people, because God loves them, you need to treat other people as if they are precious. Now, he's able to articulate the values back to me, when I ask why he can't take a toy from the baby he can tell me it's because "Glenn is precious." I think giving kids the deeper reasons behind surface-level rules is one important way to respect them.

Yes I totally agree 😊 And I love that you are sharing this value with your kids, I think it’s so beautiful ! I think you mentioned this is one of your videos and I thought it was such a lovely way of phrasing it and I started doing the same with my kids 😊 thanks so much for sharing, I love your approach to parenting!

Haha so does my 3 years old. The other day she was playing with her dad, pretending to be his mom and him the baby and he said “I want a bottle” and she said “AGAIN?!” 😂😂😂😂 I was like “oops” 😂

Hello you cannot imagine how much you are helping me with these mindful parenting tips.I am Indian and my son is French and there is big difference between Indian and French parenting. I am based in Paris and it is important for me to know the French way of parenting and your videos are helping me a lot. I keep sharing them with my family members who have toddlers.

I truly appreciated this...my toddler is in the middle of a development leap and it’s pretty intense in terms of his frustration and impatience with things. Thank you for breaking everything down into these 10 helpful steps!!

Thank you for watching my vide. Yes, it can be very intense and sometimes frustrating, but whenever I feel frustrated I try to remind myself that my toddler is really struggling and overwhelmed and that her little brain isn't mature enough to know how to handle this situation. At this young age, they literally don't have the brain connections they need to be able to self regulate or self control or even understand how others feel... I used to get so mad at my toddler when she hit her brother when he was a tiny baby, but now I understand: her little brain was incapable of imagining what it felt like for him AND incapable of stopping an impulse... Understanding this helps me a lot with keeping my cool in those situations 😊

What I really want to know is when can I start positive discipline? At what age?

These tips are great, but ages are not mentioned, it would be nice to know 1 yr, 2 yrs or 3 yr. Just saying preschool isn’t always enough.
