She literally neatly preps her handbag on the floor to serve as a cushion for her head to fall...and "faints" directly on it 🙄🤔. The BW was browsing at one of those panty bins that Victoria's Secret has during their semi-annual sale. The WW acted entitled and start browsing directly next to her, so close that she basically was touching the BW/kind of moving her, as if the BW should move and allow the WW to look at a particular section of the display, even if the BW was currently browsing/shopping that exact section. Even before the pandemic, if I'm in a store, I would NEVER get directly next to someone to the point where I keep knocking into them...that's just rude. I've seen this type of situation in many stores...people will try to pretend you don't exist/as if they can't see you, and will act as if they are literally trying to walk through you! I'm a 5'8" woman (5'11" to 6' tall in heels), and I've actually had snobby women try to do this to me, as opposed to simply saying "excuse me." or how about this...if I am browsing a section in tight quarters for literally 30 second or even 2 minutes, allow me to do so and then you can browse after I've moved?? I've also had women try to nudge me from a spot where I literally had just walked to 10 to 20 seconds prior...I've literally had to stiffen my body so the woman would not have the ability to nudge me, turn to them and say in a very professional/authoritative tone "you just saw me get to this particular spot and you are proceeding to shove me? So this is how entitled you are when it comes to shopping?" And I say it loud enough in the professional tone for others to hear. Each time I've done this, the woman has stopped.

You know that they have the right to detain people if they have adequate reason to believe that they are breaking the law, such as shoplifting or assault. I didn't see it that way. From the legal perspective these ladies were trying to cover all the bases that could be argued. We (as the public) never would've known our rights as far as recordings go, especially when the two police officers and a Victoria's Secret customer, along with the attacker who all claimed the victim should stop recording. Please don't be offended by the anchors questions, she asked great questions to inform the rest of us with the correct information as far as New Jersey laws go. Keep recording and I hope the victim gets the justice she deserves.

Sandra Redmond I've had this happen to me in a hospital. The emergency on call doctor called the cops on us and I began recording. She lied straight up about what we were doing and I called her out on it and told her I have it on video. She immediately changed her tone. But legally the hospital could've sued me for recording in a hospital with other patients in the area because of HIPA. But in the end it saved me. I think you're assuming too much. This lady is covering all the bases about your rights to recording. It's good to know the difference between a public setting and a private setting with the public. I'm glad to know that. Had she not asked the right questions I wouldn't know the difference when the interviewee referred to a beach setting but the Victoria's Secret setting was the issue. So the interviewer referred back to the mall which is considered a private property that most people frequent which the interviewee clarified is for a public setting. How many people out there are talking about "their right to privacy" when they're the one attacking people? Or defending the attacker with words like "she has a right to privacy", etc.. This interview saved A LOT of comments and arguments about this exact topic with the correct answers.

The only reason she was screaming that and started throwing a tantrum is because she knew after this her job and any type of “good” reputation she had before the video will be gone right after. So she was more terrfied of loosing everything for her true colors being exposed to the world than actually “having a panic attack” as she claimed. If you watched the full 14min video in the beginning you can see the karen tries to hit the black woman and the black woman caught it as she was doing it. And then the karen immediately went into a tantrum and faking crying, tried to fake passing out , had all kinds of theatrics going the moment she saw she was being recorded. Reporters ask questions that many other people have been asking. So the reporter most likely asked the question to clear up any misconceptions about the law.

The first thing the journalist said was that she is from Nigeria if that’s case , the wiretapping one-party consent doesn’t apple to the African lady . Just if one lived in a different state she would need every party consent . If the journalist made a mistake she should reword it.

Its not exactly ILLEGAL, but you can be forced to take the video down. I agree this is an exception because she felt threatened and reasonably wanted to preserve exactly what happened. But that does not extend to publishing video of the event online after the subject of the video clearly told her she didn't want to be recorded. The interviewee, Dr. Laura, is full of shit. She is wrong about 2 legal points. 1.) if she is upset that no charges were filed, well... that is something she needs to take up with the African woman. The police don't just file charges based on assaults they did not witness. She shoud have filed charges. So if your going to be appalled, be appalled at her. 2.) Private citizens do have a reasonable expectation of privacy even in a public space. Only public figured have given up that right. I hate to defend crazy Karen but this Dr Laura needs to get her head out of her ass. Acting all outraged at the system because of something only the African woman could have and should have done is very irresponsible.

Police protect each other at all costs. I’ve seen videos showing people being threatened and thrown out of police stations for far worse offenses than this.
