As soon as Ashens got out the Cassandra figure I knew what it was going to be, because Destroyed Cassandra is currently sitting in a box under my bed. I don't know what my eight-year-old mind was thinking...

About a year ago my local comic shop was closing, and the last day of business I came by at abouy an hour before closing and the store had been about 99% picked through and there was only three Doctor Who action figures left, and ALL of them were this figure. I bought all three for a dollar. 😅And I still feel a little ripped off. 😂

I knew what was coming the second I saw the first Cassandra. I have a worryingly vivid memory of seeing this in Woolworths a few days before it shut down with my dad and the two of us just flipping out. I'm genuinely happy someone else found it.

The bee upside down is clearly a turtle!! It looks more like a turtle "upside down" than a bee the other way around.

She only appeared in this form the once, but the character showed up more than once though.

Back in the day, I worked at a movie store, and we got in the line of American McGee's Alice figures, back when the first game came out, and I picked up a couple of the more interesting figures (Alice, the Cat, and, maybe the Jabberwocky...? I forget now) but we also got a box with the large lump of a Tweedle (Tweedledum, I think?) And, having opened the other figures, I was well aware that they didn't have articulation beyond the wrists and the shoulders, and I kept staring at Tweedledum in his package, because he was roughly the height of my forearm, and I couldn't see any joint lines, so I could only imagine he was a massive hunk of plastic that did jack and shit. And I watched it sit there and get dusty as sin, and get marked down, and marked down, until I think it eventually ended up getting marked down to a penny. I don't know what about the episode made me remember the darn thing, but, if you like useless lumps of plastic in overdesigned boxes, and I know you do...

After showing the alive Cassandra first, I thought the worst thing was going to be the slab of concrete with a face from the episode "Love and Monsters"

I'd be pretty horrified for a kid to ask for the normal figure "yeah hey mum can I have Sandra the human shower curtain from Doctor Who for my birthday?"

I'd love Cassandra's (the Greek character) curse. I could constantly win the lottery and each time I play, I could post my predictions online to make sure nobody else picks those numbers and I win the whole damn thing each time. :3

I actually have this figure as I've bought nearly every Doctor Who figure made, so here's some more information on these figures. They were made specifically to be exclusive to the now dead shop Woolworths, and were basically just re-packaged figures with new accessories (as a way to sell off old stock?). Or having very small changes like Cassandra missing the middle part, Toby Zed not having the markings/red eyes, 10 in spacesuit having his visor smashed open, the ood's orb glows in the dark etc. They actually did two waves of these, this is series 2 whereas series 1 had figures like Captain Jack with nothing new but a hat, Gelth Zombie that glows in the dark and others with nothing new. Although rather hilariously actually the series also included a 9th doctor figure with accessories from his first episode like the head of mickey when he was turned into an auton.

The worst thing about those Character Options action figures was that Argos always had the same code type in for all of them and not a separate code for each figure, so you had to keep going in to see if they had the one you want.

They really should’ve made an insane Dalek Caan figure, that would’ve been a decent one, although like the destroyed imperial Dalek figure it would more likely be used as set scenery, like if you were making an animation or something. Much better than destroyed Cassandra, hands down the worst action figure character options have made.

I remember when this figure would always be on the store shelves of Woolworths. When Woolworths closed, I just remember there was an entire shelf full of them and I was also unfortunate enough to actually have one myself for Christmas that same year.

Yesterday I found out about a Star Wars figure called ‘demise of Grievous’ which is literally a figure of General Grievous dying (flaming eyes and all). That one should probably be put in the same category of figures as destroyed Cassandra.

Among them you can find: - Rocky on a wheelchair - because every kid wants to play with their favourite hero when he's been beat up so badly that he can't even stand! - Statue of Rocky - if you think that wheelchair version was still too interactive... (also - pigeons nor included) - Crappy commercial Rocky (the one where he was dressed up as a caveman) - well, this one at least moves. Still, it's as exciting as "luke drinking weird blue liquid in the farm" figure from Star Wars. - Ivan Drago's wife - for all your fanfictions that you want to play (for extra humiliation, hook her up with wheelchair Rocky. Take that, Drago!)
