Blue is the most popular colour in Western society and it is semantically associated with light, sky, sea, rest, travel, vacation or dream… The words Blue, Bleu, Blu, Blau are poetic, reassuring and peaceful… But it is also becoming more and more of a neutral color, the less aggressive and less transgressive one. This piece plays with the visual semiotics of the Blue color when they interfere the viewer’s perception. It confronts Blue super-consensual values with ones that are almost opposite: accident, flicker, noise, un-control and unexpectedness - in order to challenge the viewer’s own perception of space and time.
